"competitive" in our situation essentially means not getting blown out by 5 goals every night
i know jim said after the draft he hopes not to draft jack because of a higher finish in the standings, but we all know this is heavily dependant on the success of our young players. if they can't take that step, we're set for another high pick and subsequent trim to the edges of our roster (and of course some hyperbolic FA angst )

It's gonna be a long couple months before camp, I've got nothing to complain about right now
Just reading about the PP for next year, last year they actually finished 9th overall on the PP, very good! They lost 54 PP points from the Sedins and Vanek though, that's a lot of PP points.
Hopefully Horvat, Boeser and Pettersson can make up some of those points and help the PP stay strong. Second unit could be troublesome though, talent is pretty thin after that. |

I just checked, Sutter had 0 points on the PP last year, which is probably why they had success, because he wasn't on it LOL. |

It will be the new and improved Sutter/Gaunce combination, this season. Lol |

If they can scrap together one half decent power play, I'll be surprised, the second unit will be a disaster.
I don't know why Benning couldn't pull his fat head out of his ass to sign a pair of skilled forwards and one ppqb. The day he is fired will be a day of celebration, he squandered picks over the past few years like he was Gilles, without a cup run to show for it. Time for him to be relieved and a real man with a plan put in his place, someone like Linden would get my vote.
Ps
I know we're not supposed to talk about appearances or stuff but Nighthawk, we love you, you're incoherent and write like Benning talks. Please attend a toastmasters for grammar, your literature looks as proper as Bennings hair and it literally does make my head hurt.

Idgaf about grammar...
Close your eyes idc lol
Its sports not school.
Have a glass of wine & relax 👍
FYI MG built nothing. He only took over someone elses work. Him trading picks hid the fact he couldn’t draft his way out of a wet paper bag. I'm being generous at that. |

Your worries are unfounded, Pettersson will score 60 points this year, 25 of them on the PP, he'll also win the Calder Trophy, just for good measure. The second Canuck ever behind Bure to win it!! |

Give EP a good finisher to fully make him tick is my wish. Who might that be? |

I’m thinking if AG can play his 200’ game solidly & JV pitch in the same it allows EP a little freedom to do his thing. JV’s speed needs to be a weapon & he does lots of the dirty work. Young line but sheltered minutues. Bo’s line the major offensive zone starts. Sutter the D zone. Beagle the same & PK. Bottom 6 wingers as in Goldy LE Roussel & Schaller score some but not liabilities. Goldy can get PP time & top 6 when he’s or if he’s in a groove. Granlund & Gagner starting are TG’s call but probably get more starts til the kids get in the good books. Injuries also will happen. If AG starts in Utica then idk what the lines could look like. |

I agree. I don’t see him as a long term solution. Eventually Hughes will be our small offensive d, making Stetcher available. I like Stetcher for now and he does seem to work well with Edler. |

Our PP could look like a lesser version of Tampa or Washington. Pettersson has a good shot but can also set up plays. Boeser is the same (better shooter than playmaker). Horvat as net front. Edler (would prefer Hughes) and I guess Baertschi in the middle? |

You're an eternal optimist, if Benning had signed a player to play with him that was capable of offense then I might buy it, as it is he's proven to be as good a GM as his hair is real. |

If by young players you mean Baertschi, Horvat, Boeser, Stecher, Hutton, Pouillot, Gudbranson, Granlund, Gaunce, Virtanen and Leipsic then yes, team success will depend on how they perform.
