All is a reasonable wish list 👍
I’ll take 80% on that. Chances are higher.

- Nighthawk

If the Canucks could realize 80% of that I would be ecstatic.

Aware of the consequences? There were none at the time. These contracts were proposed by agents that figured out a legal way to get the highest possible salary for their clients. The CBA was later amended to prevent them. Changing the rules to penalize teams retroactively is a prime example of the lack of integrity in Gary's league.

Maybe the NHL should send a registered letter to Scott Stevens advising him that he owes them the equivalent of 10 games from his 2000-2001 salary. Under the current rules he would have been suspended for a head shot on Eric Lindros, so using Gary's logic he should be penalized.

- YeOldTimer

The front end loaded bonuses said teams/agents didn’t honestly see the term being finished. Thats what bothers me. No different than JT’s lockout contract. In the next cba a recapture of bonuses should be inserted if a lockout.

I agree that 80% would virtually be 100%

I’m choosing a new path, I’m going to be positive and hopeful. Not like Nucker positivity but close.

To start off with, Hughes is the next Bobby Orr,

Hope that EG is the perfect partner for him.
From there we can see more good coming.
While we go through this phase of the rebuild we need to see more chemistry.
So far Sven Bo BB have shown it.
Next up is AG with probably EP & JV.
Thats a big step for us if it happens.
Hughes needs the same to happen.
OJ also.
If that happens or most if it does then JB has done very good. Problem is timing is not on his side. If EP AG JV do come out flying & maintain it well i’d think fans would be very happy & assets go up in value.

A treading water season is not good.

Heh Mak would 20g from LE & 15g from JV make you happy? Add in other improvements to that you’d see as reasonable. For me 10g from any D.

Roussel got the same term as Komorov Clutterbuck and Dorsett. I have no issue with his contract one bit.

Beagle you can bury his final year many ways

Non of which are good buys.

Just because Mellenials are willing to pay $10 for avocado on toast would you?

A better manager would have bowed out when the prices got too high.

All the negative nellies will eventually come around. Too much female dogging going on these days about the current roster and they haven't played a game yet. I'm not over the moon with the recent signings either but management felt they needed to address some issues which they did. "Suck it up butter cups!" I could handle the losing but getting manhandled so many games even with Dorsett in the lineup was painful to watch. The team is 2 to 3 years away. The team is a little more insulated so there's no rush to bring in Juolevi and Gaudette if they aren't ready. Give Demko one more year in Utica as the starter...then he'll be ready when Nilsson is gone. Baby steps ladies...baby steps.

I've been negative about the roster the past few years and haven't been proven wrong yet. I'll gladly take being wrong if it means the team improves.

I think you have it bass ackwards, it's the pom pom wavers that have started to come around and admit this group has been inept.

I would like Virtanen to push for 20, anything over 20 for Eriksson, I think Stecher should be up around 20+ points. I would also be happy with more production from 3rd and 4th lines. Which I’m hopeful will be the case with the new additions, Beagle can win face offs, which should improve possession exiting the Dzone, or getting more shots offensively.

I do too, we buy bags of them at a time from Costco. I make my own Avocado toast for $1 instead of $10.

I’m more of an optimistic fence sitter lol
I knew we were in trouble after the cup runs & didn’t see any fixes or a way out of it. Sure many ppl here had good ideas but its hard to pull off big moves in todays cap world. We also knew the pain would be massive. Where we are at today looks like spinning our wheels but its going ok. The D has been a long time problem & takes the longest to address. It will remain the biggest challenge.

Good god, I hope not. Any trade of his will only set the team back.
The pro scouting in Vancouver is atrocious.

This. The draft/amateur scouts get ripped in Vancouver but the pro scouting is just as bad, if not worse.

Pretty much every established NHL'er the team has acquired since the Luongo deal has underwhelmed outside of Ehrhoff and I guess maybe Higgins(expectations were pretty low for that deal).
