Ye, but anybody who actually watches Euro soccer would know that Belgium is a powerhouse.
- SRam19

They are definitely an offensive powerhouse. I still feel they were the underdog against Brazil. So did the commentators but what do they know.

You know...it wouldn't surprise me if Benning overpays him because he's a local boy and fan favorite

True, it's arbitration so who knows what they'll use as a comparable. He had a good first year, as far as production went, then his minutes and his role changed so he saw a big reduction in production.

Personally I think anything north of 2 million is an overpayment but I'm not making the decisions.

Who needs young players?

You got all that cap space next season to sign more 3rd and 4th liners to multi year, multi million $$$ contracts

Not when Stecher takes out their top player with a bone crushing, masterful defensive play that he is know for.

I hope the handsome, smooth talking Benning can offer such a valuable top pairing, minute munching defenseman, at least $4.5 over six years just to lock him up long term.

- Makita

You forgot to wink, therefore I am flagging you for judging handsome Jim on his appearance.

Hold up obviously is cap dumping. I don’t think Yzerman wants to trade til cap space is also done. If not then teams can squeeze him harder & easier. JB you in the mix?

- Nighthawk

maybe Jb should try to get in and steal something

basics being something like...

TBL ....karlson
Van.....sergachev and insert big contract (callahan??)
Ott......Tanev....and try to get dorian to take Erikson

Best to you Burr.

Thx for the hard work and effort.

- LordHumungous

I dont mind that he doesnt get the appreciation he deserves from other fan bases.

Kind of makes it a little more extra special to us.

The amazing things Alex Burr achieved through sheer will, and hard work is pretty incredible. Not too mention Several Season/Playoff/Career defining moments in Canucks history which are engraved in my memory.

An all time favourite of mine who I believe should be in the ROH.

"29. Vancouver Canucks

We won’t be the first or last to say that four years is too much term for Jay Beagle and Antoine Roussel. That said, drafting Quinn Hughes — a potential power-play quarterback for years — was a major win, and re-signing Sven Baertschi for a $3.37 million cap hit might look like a bargain if he keeps raising his game.

30. New York Islanders

Finally stripping Garth Snow of his power: Check mark. Hiring Barry Trotz at top dollar: Check mark. Losing the face of the franchise for nothing and then signing Leo Komarov for four years: Uh-oh.

31. Ottawa Senators

An utter gong show. Mike Hoffman and his 30 goals are gone, No. 1 goalie Craig Anderson wants out, and all signs point to Erik Karlsson’s departure. Next up: Sens fans can look forward to Mark Stone’s arbitration case. There’s a silver lining, however. We like the Brady Tkachuk pick."

Just reading article about teams that improved so far during the off-season, it apprears no one thinks Vancouver, the NYI's and Ottawa have improved?

How so? All three teams are now in a building mode, Canucks have been for the past few years, the other teams haven't. Now they all find themselves in the same situation.

Sens are an absolute mess & no 1st.
NYI have been in turmoil for ages.
We are in a new stage out of necessity.

Sorry not following you, all three teams are a mess but all three teams have good prospects. So there's hope, which is what most of us are hanging our hats on, hope.

- Canucks have been a bad team for five of the past six years. Poor GM.
- Ottawa has owner issues. Poor GM.
- NYI have building issues but good owners now. Good prospects too!
