I was running full speed with the ball when a defender took his stick and put it between my feet and i fell forward onto a tile floor with full force. I picked myself up within 5 seconds, brushed myself off, and was ready to play, despite getting a couple of bruises.

I don't get how soccer players can debase themselves like that.

It's simple, really: set piece plays - especially PKs - can be absolute game changers.

It's low risk, high reward to take a dive and flop about if you can give your team a major opportunity.

The only way to clean this type of play up is by ruthlessly carding players who embellish. FIFA, among other soccer organizing bodies, doesn't seem interested in doing anything of the sort.
