16 G 33 Pts last year 71 games
18 G 29 Pts the year before 64 games
Plays CENTER - VANTEL
I guess I'm just leery of giving up a very young player before he gets to reach his potential. He clearly was mishandled and that set him back but I think JV could be and excellent middle 6 forward |

Yeah, fair enough, everyone has their own opinions. I think AA is already an excellent 3rd line in today's game, his speed and secondary offense is exactly what you want from a support/role player in today's game.
Plus I have a feeling that he really wants a change of scenery, Jake might need one too. - Nucker101
I would definitely give up other assets to acquire AA if possible. Dman and a 3rd or something to that effect |

I don't see why Detroit would do that |

Me neither but I wanted to express that I didn't dislike the player |

If Jake had better hands , was tougher , and a head more into the game then I would agree . With JV there always seems to be some sort of distraction. |

Sticking point is a big fast JV can be a game changer. A thunderous hit can change a game especially in the PO’s when we get there lol
Assuming our top 6 wingers pan out pretty good a 3rd line role gets TOI & the depth is uncheckable so often. We lack a top 2 C prefer a 1 but thats for the draft. Get that & all the pieces look very very good.
Top 6 winger hopes...
BB
EP
Dahlen
Goldy
1 of Lind, Paalmu, JV, Lockwood, Gads can move up. Top 2 C remains the big hole. AG is not ready & if at worst a very good 3C that is fine. If a 2C well glory be 😂😂
All said i like our wingers & prospects & seeing a year or 2 of letting them fit in is hard to give up on. Any trade of a kid eg JV can define a team & what it leads to will be judged ad nauseum.
Is AA a longterm upgrade is the big question. |

I wanted JB to sign him, too bad we have so many dang wingers. Gagner and Eriksson getting in the way. |

Report: Red Wings, Athanasiou agree to 2-year, $6M contract
Well that ends that

i think more Leipsic/Goldy/JV/Rousell/Schaller would be in Duclair's way...but yes. i wanted him signed as well.

it's a logjam of scrubs, and the funny thing is people always say "you need depth with Vancouver's travel schedule/injuries"
yet every summer there's fans/media talking about how the team has too many players at a certain position. - Nucker101
We never complain about too many good players. |

So we probably pick a C next draft.
He will take up to 2-3yrs to be ready.
Our wingers & D are maturing nicely
2-3yrs is realistic to see a PO push
Demko will be here then or sooner.
Lots is riding on AG or better yet EP to fill the void at C. Odds are looking good. If we hit the jackpot & both pan out WOW
Sven Bo BB
Dahlen EP Goldy
Paalmu AG JV
Roussel Beagle Gadjovich
Schaller Lind
Vets traded or expired contracts.
Picks & prospects yum yum
The all yutes line-up
Yes even LE pls pls lol
Think of the draft picks yet to come
Hughes Tanev
OJ Stecher
Brisebois EG
Woo
Demko
Dipietro
Cap space galore cannot see it not.
All said a line-up that young is boom or bust but i’ll roll the dice if players develop. |

Same, I feel like they're both flying under the radar a bit with EP and Hughes taking up so much attention. I wouldn't be shocked if one or both get a game or 2 in the NHL towards the end of the year.
Adding to that, I think Demko is really benefiting from not having any attention whatsoever right now. He's able to spend this summer focused on training with no media bugging him |
