Speed for speed. I'd much rather keep JV - NorthNuck
He has outscored Jake every year and is a center so it shouldn't be a shut and close the door case . |

2 years older and he can't play as physical. Less untapped potential imo. |

Would you retain 50% of Hutton and Del Zetto to trade them right now? Both have one year left on their deals.
We have sooooo many players right now. - 93Nucks
Yes to moving Hutton
MDZ not so sure unless the TDL |

Antoine Roussel’s agent Christian Daigle on SN 650 : ”We always had 4 years in mind, some teams were ready to commit to 4 years and some were not. At the end we had 3 teams and Antoine picked the #Canucks. Over-all we talked with 10 teams." |

I think Hughes more so because of his offense though.
Either way if a young guy makes the team someone has to be shipped out of here. No space. - 93Nucks
I think Hughes is good enough to play but Utica makes the most sense. NCAA no. |

We just got three physical players and there are plenty here unhappy that we took grit over skill. I believe you were one of them |

Was just listening to SN650 talking about Freidmans 31 for 31 .
Elliot threw out ANDREAS ATHANASIOU name and linked it to by Vancouver and adding I don't know if there is talks between the two clubs.
Young center having trouble signing with the Wings . The SN guys threw out the name Virtanen . Makes for interesting talks - VANTEL
Probably in the minority on this one, but I'd make that trade. |

I'm unhappy with the term on the Beagle deal. I understand the need for grit on this team. JV is currently the only player we have that could still play in the top 6 and bring a real heavy game. We need at least 1 or 2 who can play on the higher lines and create space for all our skilled guys. |

I saw in an interview he said that he appreciated that the Canucks took a chance on him way back when he played for the Chicago Wolves, gave him a soft spot for the organization |

I have seen like 6 heavy hits from Jake in 3 years . He also has hands of cement. He is currently playing bottom 6 and is projected as a third liner |

That, and Burrows selling him on Vancouver were the 2 things he's mentioned since signing here.

What about Athanasiou makes you think he's the superior player? That he plays center? The points can go out the window as there is an age gap and a difference in how they've been developed.
I think Jake is bigger faster and has more room to grow |

it's a logjam of scrubs, and the funny thing is people always say "you need depth with Vancouver's travel schedule/injuries"
yet every summer there's fans/media talking about how the team has too many players at a certain position. - Nucker101
TG: hi JB its TG here
JB: hi TG what can I do for you? Ya know
TG: You got me some UFA’s i wanted.
JB: anytime i can help you ya know
TG: so on to hockey, i want LHD blocking tons of shots
JB: the RHD are not blocking shots?
TG: only by accident or if game saving
JB: well Tanev can avoid injury easier ya know
TG: yes but not what my strategy is
JB: TG thats a strange system ya know
TG: overload on LHD frees up spots for injury from more blocks.
JB: got ya. Gives OJ & Hughes a call up & at the TDL we make moves
TG: bingo ttyl JB
JB: my pleasure ya know |

Better puck handler/passer mainly(softer hands), both have questions about their hockey sense and are inconsistent players. Both can fly, have good size, Jake being more physical.
I feel like AA actually has more offensive upside, plus he can play C. |

Jake is not faster lol, AA can flat out fly. I'll give you a tie, but you're underestimating how fast AA is if you think Jake is faster than him. |

A 6oa we wanted to be a star may end up a journeyman. He could be awesome in that role for depth with his skill set. Prospects we have need top 6. |

I don't know that I care about his offensive upside potentially being higher as I said, JV can play a role that AA cannot. Jake weighs 30 pounds more and is at least as fast, he's a more rare type of player that I'd hesitate to give up especially for someone a couple years older |

Yeah to be fair I've never seen AAs time around the rink. I know at the canucks skills this year Jake's time would have been 2nd only to Mcdavid at the NHL skills comp and he was wearing a cape |

If solid at C great. On tbe wing i like him,
Sure is tough to let JV go. Gotta give to get but JV for AA makes me nervous knowing JV has lots of potential to show us. AA no doubt is legit good. |

Yeah, fair enough, everyone has their own opinions. I think AA is already an excellent 3rd line in today's game, his speed and secondary offense is exactly what you want from a support/role player in today's game.
Plus I have a feeling that he really wants a change of scenery, Jake might need one too. |
