As perfect as it would be to get rid of Stone and Brouwer, it'll never happen. We've seen this same story time and time again, when the GM signs some below average veteran to an expensive deal with term because of their "leadership" etc. they never get taken out of the lineup. I mean Brouwer has an A for christ sake. He hasn't done poop in calgary and is frankly their worst forward now and they gave him an A right away. Backlund has been here his entire career, just captained his country to gold and he doesn't even have a letter. It's a joke

Look at Engallend for example, pretty much his whole time here everyone was calling for him to be taken out of the lineup, as he should've been but he never was. GM won't let their big signing sit in the press-box, it looks bad on them. Stone will be in the flames lineup until his contract runs out, and unfortunately it means Andersson will be stuck behind him.

Brouwer may have some trade value to the Oilers. GGs up there running the power play, have a feeling he'll be calling for that net presence!

I'm saying he is as effective as Yakupov. But Flames fans and their flames tinted glasses can't accept anything other than their players all being studs. Dougie should have won the Norris until traded. Then he was an overrated cancer.

Bennett is gritty as hell and as he continues to mature, he is going to be no fun to play against. Don't recall that at all from Yakupov. If Peters can get him to cut down on the bad penalties and mature as a 3rd line winger, he'll have a home in Calgary for a long time.

But let me guess, your Pizza loving Fin is not a bust. Because of usage and the fact he is 1 whole year younger.

Anyways, would rather give the kid some time to find his game. Kinda like you guys did with Nuge.......sometimes being patient pays off.

Not a bust yet. But if he cant figure it out in the next year or 2 he is. Bennett has played 2.5 more seasons than Puj. After 3-4 years you should have a pretty good idea of what you have.

Starts 59.5% of his shifts in the offensive zone.
-0.9 corsi for% relative
-1.1 fenwick for% relative.

Its black and white bud, Bennett is below average at best. And clearly the team sees him as a defensive liability or else he wouldn't start 59.5% of the time in the offensive zone.

Lots of people don't seem to understand what the relative stats mean. Bennett plays on the 3rd line of a very strong possession team. They also had the two best CF% players in the league. Of course his relative Corsi is going to be negative. His actual CF% is solid and his expected goals +/- is right between Gaudreau and Monahan.

I think both had him on the 3rd and 4th lines and in limited minutes. Yaks prob should have spent 1-2 seasons in the AHL before being brought up to the big leagues.

Agreed... I'd place a fair amount of blame on his agent for pissing off teams he was with.

So every prospect develops on the same curve.

No one here is saying Bennett is an all star but its too early to write him off as a bust.

As an Oil fan who has seen it happen tomé after time I would think you should know better.

Every post you’ve made in this thread is more idiotic than the last. And your first post was garbage. Go back to troll school and this time apply yourself.

I agree with hunk. There should be no new signings until Hanifin and Elias are inked. Thats just simple math.

Because anything said by a mouth breather like you means anything to me. Go back to tugging on Bennett's sausage.

No one agrees with you in this thread and you have no idea how asinine your garbage ideas are.

And you can go ahead and just file away those homoerotic fantasies you have about posters on here. No one is interested in those either.

Players can absolutely peak at 21, they simply stop getting better either due to them hitting a ceiling or decline through age. Bennett would be the former. He has a high draft pedigree, and while as a fan you dont want to give up on him, the results after 3 seasons is telling. I dont think he will ever hit a 50pt season, so if you can sell high on him (if thats even possible), Calgary should do it.
- Holy_Makinaw99

300 games is usually the bench mark for a player to find his comfort in the NHL. Bennett will hit that this year. I expect a great last 1/2 to Bennetts season.

Now you’re just making poop up. I didn’t see many (if any) Flames fans calling Dougir a cancer. He’s a bit of a different duck (he’s super introverted) but there didn’t sse to be any issues. He was a Norris caliber defender with us and I expect he will be again with the Canes (unless we find out that it really is Gio who makes his partners look so good).

Yakupov doesn’t know how to play hockey. His game has literally been described as someone being chased around the ice by a swarm of bees. If you think he and Bennett are comparable then you’re just a (frank)ing moron.
