Duclair skates fast into traffic and turns the puck over. - EnzoD
Is that why he had 1 giveaway in 23 games for Chicago and 7 in 33 for Arizona? Really turns the puck over a ton. |

I would only do this if the sign and trade was Montreal signing him and then retaining half his salary throughout his newly resigned contract term and we received picks from them and possibly another player. We gave up so much for Brassard already why give up another first? - 123Kid

Yeah, I just can't imagine anything like that.
A) I wouldn't even want to give up Simon, a 1st & 2nd for him, let alone throwing in Brassard.
B) If he turned down an 8/$64M deal from LA, I want nothing to do with a long term extension. - MacPatty
Pens need Brassard more than they need Pacioretty. Dont @ me. |

So does that Twitter account if they think JR is giving up the farm for Patches. Maybe that type of deal would happen at the trade deadline, but why give up all of our assets before the year even starts? |

Sign and trade and I'm OK with it, but its not the greatest deal in the world. Its at best market value. |

But Brassard only has one year of term and Paches would be coming in for the long haul. Max is a fantastic wing and I think last year's down year was an adoration, not a sign of major decline just yet.
Sheahan can be 3C easy. The only thing that gets my goat about this trade is that now its really unfortunate that we didn't sign Sheahan to term. |

Barf on that patches deal. He will be 30, someone will pay him $7mil+ on his next deal. No thanks!
Id take Skinner over him, he's 4 years younger. Id also look at Teavu Tearavainen. 23 yrs old, RFA, put up 23 last year, Plays C, LW, RW. Patches played 64 games and put up 17....Go younger. |

Not sure how unpopular of an opinion this will end up being but I think:
Guentzel-Crosby-Hornqvist
Pacioretty-Malkin-Kessel
Rust-Sheahan-Sprong
Hagelin-Cullen/Bleuger-ZAR
Is a better lineup than:
Guentzel-Crosby-Hornqvist
Hagelin-Malkin-Kessel
Rust-Brassard-Sprong
Simon-Sheahan-ZAR |

As long as its a sign and trade, I say do it. It expends a lot of assets but I think Pacioretty on the long term over Brassard who will 100% walk after next season makes it worth it.
Not looking forward to the 3C circus next offseason though. |

I wouldn't consider that deal the farm. The 1st is whatever, Simon is whatever, the 2nd is whatever, and Brassard... well, I like the idea of having Brass as 3C playing with Kessel, but I think Sheahan is a perfectly capable 3C and if Brass is going to walk, and we get a signed Pacioretty out of it, I'd rather have that... but if it's Brass for 1 year vs. Pacioretty for 1 year.. I think I'd rather keep Brassard. |

Oh I know he does and that people with a history are more susceptible to them and more severe symptoms. I just mean that any player is one very bad hit to the head away from hanging them up. Hell, you and I could have our careers end due a massive hit to the head. |
