Skinner - eichel - Reinhart
Sheary - mitts - okposo/Thompson
Bottom 6

Dahlin - Risto
Scandella - Faulk
Bottom pair

That’s not all that bad considering we have some depth for the bottom 6 and bottom pair now

If Jeff Skinner played for Chicago or Boston or LA, the opinion on him would be different
- sbroads24

He’s a really good player with concussion issues early in his career. Now he has been able to stay healthy the last 4 seasons 71, 82, 79, and 82 gp.

It all comes down to cost to acquire/extend.

Stl 1st or SJ 1st I could live with. I’m not moving ours at this time though. Skinner would be a nice piece to add but our 1st has almost equal value(might even be equal value) as him. If it has to be our 1st, then it’s a straight up deal.

Yeah if it’s ours, it has to be top 3-5 protected and i wouldn’t add.

I like Zadina a lot, but three teams passed on him from where he was slotted.

I mean, would you trade Dylan Strome for Skinner?

I wouldn’t make the deal if the Sabres didn’t more than likely have 2 additional 1sts

- sbroads24

If it’s our 1st then I’d try to work a deal for a combo of Skinner and Fluery/Bean for our 1st and obviously more would need to be added plus a cap dump.

He’s going to command 8.5-10 per year.

I honestly think Girgensons has some value on the trade market still.

There might be a team or two that think he can still be a good top 9 player

If he wants to extend here that’s worth it

If there’s a player with the classic need of scenery, it’s him. He a good player but has just been put through the ringer here (coaching changes and what not). He’d do well under a guy like Torts/Hitchcock type guy.

He probably does, but it's like 3rd or 4th rounder value.

I think he could be an interesting + to a deal we make.

He’s a cheap utility player. Has versatility

Agreed. He’s one of a few I think have actually been killed by the situation they’ve been in. I don’t think his career has been defined just yet

I would prefer to keep Faulk out of it.
Can score for sure, but his D game is below average and I think he will cost a ton more than I'd be willing to pay.

Skinner would be good, but like others would need him to sign an extension, prefer 5 - 6 years.
I would try to keep 2019 1st, make 2020 available and add say Bailey or Baptiste.

Throws all future signings for the young guys out of whack much like the Tavares one just did in Toronto.

Hence why I said Fluery/Bean. Although if you did a combo of Skinner/Faulk a cap dump of say Bogo could go the other way and you could always flip Faulk(lord knows there’s enough interest).

Panarin might be a top 10 NHL forward.

64 EV goals over the past 3 years while on two different teams averaging almost a PPG

Only 26.6% of his points are pp (233 total points).

I can't see him wanting to extend here though.

I would love to have him even at 8-10.

But I’m not the cap wizard

He's the type of guy you want on your bottom 6 in the playoffs.

Unfortunately he needs a change.

While he probably is a top 10-15 forward that's a tough nut to swallow. As I said it'll throw the cap all to hell in the future.

He'd also cost at least one of those pieces we'd have to pay big $ down the road. Unless there's reason to think we could extend him, it doesn't feel like an option.

Mitts and Dahlin are untouchables and if everything goes right will more than likely be in that range. Can’t have 4 guys taking damn near 50% of the cap.

The Islanders are going sabres 2.0 when they lost Drury , Danny

Barzal’s (vanek) this year the Islanders are going to ask the world of him and he's going to struggle all because they didn't trade to get him help just like they did to John Tavares

- gerbe75pts

76 goals in the 2 years after they left is struggling?
