Has anyone found out for sure that we can even trade one of these conditional picks?

I also wonder if McCabe + a conditional 1st can even get us the kind of player we need at this point. I get the feeling that Skinner wouldn't waive for us.

- Lunaion

Everything I keep hearing is we cant until the conditions are met. We dont actually own the picks yet.

I'm still under the impression that we can't trade either conditional first. If we can't, I struggle to put together the pieces to make that kind of move.
- Lunaion

In all honesty, if they were able to extend Skinner, I’d move our 1st for him with an extension, if we were able to put like a top 3 protected condition.

The rumor was they wanted a 1st plus prospect

What would ever give you that idea?

It's just a feeling. There were a lot of rumors of him moving, including the Sabres as a possibility. At the draft, they said Skinner killed several deals. Since then, the rumors have stopped. Might be nothing, but the deal gets tougher to make as time goes by.

Wow, I'm surprised. Dealing our first is a huge gamble that I wouldn't take.

Would you trade Zadina for Skinner?

That's the impression I get as well. The picks involved are considered 'encumbered' and can't be moved. I'm just not 100% sure if refers to both teams.

If I knew it was Zadina, no.

If it’s possible that it’s pick 4-16, with having two other 1sts, I’d take my chances. Skinner makes us better now and down the road being 26.

If this was 3 years ago absolutely not. But we have our core now.

It’s almost time to add the compliment pieces again.

If it’s top 3-5 protected I don’t think it’s a huge deal.

That is exactly why we cant move our 1st, never know how the draft will break down. And way too early to tell if we will be anything close to a competitive team.

We will look like Ottawa if we move our pick.

Ottawa is a much different situation.

They’re getting worse. Our roster is getting better.

Carolina would be betting on getting a pick between 5-16 which is solid value for Skinner, the Sabres would be getting a 3x 30 goal scorer for Eichel who’s 26 years old.

I mean, what are the odds Zadina has the career Skinner does?

As much as I want a LW, I just have a hard time moving that or Guhle. They seem like the top assets that could move.

It’s fine to predict that, but what are the odds??

They can’t be good considering Skinner has averaged 30 goal per last 3 years.

Don’t think Guhle would even be a fit with them. They’re top 3 LD’s are pretty set

I would think Asplund would be.

I thought for sure jcrag would be here to gush about the article already. Pachla could type just his name as the blog and still get a " good write up" from the guy.

If adding a piece such as Pac or Skinner makes sense, then trading away Kane didnt. Rather see where the 3 picks falls next year and take BPA.
- Mentalorgasm5

Kane was about changing the locker room.

Kane.....gone
ROR......gone
Le Swiss cheese.....gone
If Bogo could stay healthy I’d bet he’d be gone too.

All Murray guys. This past season and current offseason is about culture change and getting a shot at drafting Dahlin.

Between the terrible negativity of the BN, and the terrible junior high writing of WGR, im glad we have Pach. He's one of the best to read consistently

Ek says Faulk and skinner going to be traded today.

Says Faulk to the isles.

I wouldn’t hate some RD depth

Skinner and Faulk would do well to plug some of our holes.

I’d say the odds are 2-1.

He was drafted by Detroit and they have a habit of turning rages to riches with their picks. They haven’t drafted a talent like him that early in the 1st since what, Keith Primeau? The kid can step in right away and play.

I like Zadina a lot, but three teams passed on him from where he was slotted.

I mean, would you trade Dylan Strome for Skinner?

I wouldn’t make the deal if the Sabres didn’t more than likely have 2 additional 1sts
