Granlund is a fill in not a top 6 regular. I think his contracts are reflective of how mgmt feel
- VANTEL

Yes, he is a fill in. 3rd liner. But he's a smart player. That could prove important to a guy like EP. There isn't enough skill (in terms of C) on this team. So thats the only reason I thought of it. Nobody saw Burr with the Sedans either.

Canucks are close to where they want to be.

They are starting to put in pieces long term now as we seen July 1. You may not like them but they do.

Roussel is a good player and 3 mil is not a lot. He won't be playing 4 th line I expect him to be playing with Sutter.

Schaller I thought was a very smart signing . He will be a 4 th line player.

I am not going to try and sell the Beagle signing but it is done , lets wait and see how it unfolds.

Canucks have 5 or 6 Dmen ready but don't expect them all to be in the line up this year. Hughes and OJ this year . Out MDZ and Hutton . Woo will probably take 2 years . Rathbone looks very good RHD. Then Brisebois and Sautner as a bottom pair when ready. Not as bad as everyone says.

There was a fair amount of people here that said Goldobin Boucher are not NHL skilled or ready. Canucks felt the same and that is why Granlund Gagner are stop gaps.

The truth is you don't want to be adding 4 prospects to your roster in a year. We have a young team and we are adding EP.

That is the way a NHL team should operate 1 new prospect a year or two.

Canucks do not need any major signings now for two years (Brock and Edler). They have their cap in order and SOME prospects are close.

I think as a fan you should start counting on switching one player a year not 4.

Agree on pretty much all counts for the most part. I like the signings as I am a fan of bringing grit into the lineup...just not a fan of the term on Roussel and Beagle. Should have been 2-3 years max. We still have yet to 'technically' replace the Sedins lost 90 pts..but hoping Players like Horvat/Boeser and few others step up with a few more points.

Always curious around injuries as well. This team always seems to be quite injured around Jan-Feb so hopefully that doesn't bite us again.

I am actually a fan of the term on Roussel not on Beagle. Everything I have read about him says he is a health nut and a very good leader in the room so I will wait and see. Love the Roussel signing . He was my guy in free agency

Agree with mostly everything you said, good take on many things. Except adding 1 or 2 new prospects a year is not realistic. The devils just had a great season and had 3 rookies and 3-4 fairly new prospects, all integrated well and had success, it can be done. Good teams like Tampa just did it, crap teams like Arizona as well. No reason why EP, Gaudette, Goldy, Leipsic shouldn't play full seasons if healthy.

EP I would bet will play the entire season as a Canuck.

Goldobin and Leipsic I also expect to be on the Canucks I don't expect Gaunce.

Gaudette I would like to see him spend time on the Comets for this year. Play big minutes and get use to pro hockey . Him and Dahlen first call ups

Jim is going to have to do some trades pretty quick. So many players are waiver eligible and he would be dumb not to try and see if he can deal them ahead of time.

I hope so too. I am really hoping Gaudette shows up hungry as well. Virtanen looks like he has been working out and training all throughout summer, so I expect a good camp from him.

Yup...good points. As much as I want a different look with our defense this year I would prefer Hughes go to Michigan and OJ go to Utica if not ready. Rathbone is a lefty I think so we are loaded on the left side.

Do you see Goldobin playing in the Top 6? I think he might be one of players moved before the season starts.
