Who is the second line center?
- VANTEL

We don't have one. We have a 3rd line C in Sutter and a 4th in Beagle.

Gagner is another 3C, Granlund could fill in as a 3C but not for the whole year, Gaudette is a wild card.

Truth is, we aren't a cup contending team this year. We don't need to have every slot filled.

he is an LTIR dump, there is no market for him. He will give up an asset to save money for the owner as well as not have that cap there on day 1.
- Retinalz

Yes a dump but after the season starts its LTIR. Not before so it hinders manouvering & why a sweetener has to be involved.

How would JB justify trading for Anisimov and signing Beagle while Sutter is still here?
- NorthNuck

Trade Sutter to Anaheim?

I'd ask for a 6th or a 7th along with that but yeah me too. Get Gagner out of here he's unnecessary.
- NorthNuck

Can always try that 👍

Would they fall for it after we gave them Kesler?

- A_SteamingLombardi

Its not its another trade idea to move out Hutton & free up a logjam on D.
Gagner for Hossa/2nd is my want if not.

Anisimove is a better center than Gagner . The last two names I heard thrown out to play 2C are Sutter or Gagner so I think Anisimov is an upgrade

An unnecessary upgrade for the reason I stated above. This is a year we want to see what we have in Gaudette. If you have Horvat Anisimov Sutter Beagle plugging all the C positions you don't get to.

Gaudette will probably be in Utica playing 18 min a night not 7 min a nigh here

I think he'll play at least half the season in the NHL probably more. With Beagle behind him he could play on an insulated 3rd line 11-15 min a night

If we are after Anisimov its a weird rebuild.
I don’t mind it & EP gets a real 2C.
AG goes to Utica is fine.
Have to ponder it all for the long term.
3/9.8m cap space gone is a ton

Not really that weird . Who would you rather have playing center with Pettersson ?Gagner Sutter or Anisimov?

From a Stars fan:

As a Stars fan who lives halfway across the country, I'm only able to have a handful of chances to attend practices and get things signed. Roussel is the guy that always stops to talk to fans, sign autographs, take pictures, etc. One time the team was in some sort of meeting for at least an hour after practice and almost every player bailed through the private exit because they were ready to get home. Roussel didn't. He still made sure he talked to every single fan that was lined up with a positive attitude.

I truly wish Roussel the best in Vancouver. And I'm grateful for his time with the Stars and the respect he showed for the fans every day.

Though Beagle was signed a year or two too long, I think it is a good idea to assume Gaudette starts in Utica getting 1c or 2c exposure and 1PP as well to develop. He has a lot of potential but seems to be a kid that needs to ease into things rather than be thrown to the wolves.

I am fine with him for 4 years because cap hit is low and he is only 28, will still be a tradeable asset in the 3rd or 4th year of his contract.

Agent Pat Brisson and #Canucks GM Jim Benning spoke today about 7th pick Quinn Hughes turning pro. Each side will discuss what’s best for D-man’s development, and they’ll try to agree on a decision within a week.

as an aside, Pettersson could also potentially play 2C.
just a thought.
