If were going off the Canucks, I'm also going to catch poop because Forsberg burned us more than once... but Forsberg was my favourite.

Hejduk burned us way more than Forsberg.

Loved the passion Roy played with, his fight with Vernon was a beauty.

So good, second only to Cloutier beating up an entire line and then challenging the bench.

I don't see how metrics determine an "unlucky year".
- Marwood

The idea is:
shot percentage is lower than it has been (below the player's career average)
or line mates average down.

So say you see a dip in PPG. It can be regression, because players do that for sure, or if you look at the underlying stats and they are creating just as much opportunity (offensive zone possession, quality shots) but just not finishing then they predict that line or player may just be unlucky.

Stats aren't any more accurate than a solid pro's eye test/opinion. But it does add another layer to looking at how effective a player is.

Anyway, that's my brief intro but statistical theory and what stats can predict and why is a lot to unpack

If you paint your hair black, with the look of a dark shoe polish, you might be unlucky as your sense of self governance, is non existent

On ice, yes. Off the ice, Lindros was an enviable POS.
- Pres.cup

You said "their bodies of work", which identifies with their on ice performance, one would assume. Not wanting to play for Quebec doesn't mean anything to me.

The headline of either article could have been " Wah, Waaaah!" quite easily. Oh no, losing Gagner on Waivers! Not Gaunce! Oh no, will they have to make a trade and maybe get draft picks? bumholes!
- neem55

1. None of the "veteran" players will be waived, their spots are safe.
2. Track record is not good on acquiring picks.
3. As few goals as Gaunce has scored, he is as good or better than most of the 4th line guys this organization has had over the past several years. It would be a shame to loose him for nothing. Not the end of the world, but it wouldnt be moving the team forward.

I can't justify the Beagle signing. I don't have a problem at the other two.

I don't see any forward other than EP ready to step in this year and he will have a spot. I also think some forwards will be moved so I don't see a big problem yet

- VANTEL

They said they were making room for "younger, faster" players and they sign 3 older , slower guys. Management would be better of saying nothing rather than spewing one lie after another.

Not just the Quebec angle, he always was arrogant and selfish. Good player, but he's not in the hall for a reason.

He was a beast for sure, but I doubt he, or Kamensky or Ozolinš were anyones favorite player during the Sakic/Forsberg era.

Management should definitely shut up and keep away from mics.

I am not sure of the faster younger players available in free agency and we definitely don't have any prospects that fill that yet .

Probably the same as arrogance, conceit and superiority.
