He was probably looking at, the very least, Hutton money. I don't think it would be out of hand to ask for that, being paired with Edler and playing 2nd most minutes. If I were him, I would probably be asking for that too. Definitely a JB screw up on Hutton's contract.

He should be given a ride to the airport if he wants Hutton money

Stecher filed for arbitration today. Dahliwal says he wants Ben Hutton money . That will thrill Makita

I don't think hes out of line to ask that. Hutton was a healthy scratch, and was on the bottom pair for most of the year. Stecher played top 4, but majority, top 2 minutes. That isn't to say that he is a top 2 calibre defenseman, or even a top 4 by today's standards, but if your inferior colleague got paid 2.8 million to do less work than you, would you ask for less?

Huttons contract was a mistake . Don't repeat it

1 goal 10 assists and no physical advantage . Do you really want to pay 3 mil a year for that?

Shea Weber out for extended period of time following knee surgery. Sounds like he is planning his recapture excuse

That trade is just blowing up in Bergevin's face, although PK was a major cancer in the room

No. Again, I am not saying that is Hutton or Stecher's worth. It was a bone-head contract by Benning. But, I am just saying, its not unreasonable for Stecher to try and take advantage of that bone-head contract to get paid. That's all I am saying.

He can try but I am sure if he wins arbitration he will punch his ticket out of Vancouver. You don't need Stecher , we just drafted Quinn Hughes. Biega will be elated.

Aside from Adele how many fat divas are there . How may fat ugly anchormen are there on TV . Why do athletes show up to the arena in suits and not cut offs and tank tops.

Whether you like it or not image has a big roll in society today. Not just Vantels opinion.

All your examples are showmen and women.
How many CEO's are in the shape of athletes?

Bill Gates isn't a good looking man, nor is he particularly articulate.
Zimmerman isn't a good looking man, nor is he articulate.
I am a great looking, highly articulate man, but I work my fingers to the bones to get by, where is the correlation?
I get that you want a pageant winner to look at and to admire, but you're gonna need to read GQ for your man appeal.

I will ask you again why are you giving me grief about what I think of Benning and it is okay for you to mock a fellow poster Dragon's appearance. Glass Houses dude

He deserves similar money. Maybe a bit lower but JB screwed himself on that one. No real issue in the grand scheme

I will give you the same answer as before . Two wrongs don't make a right.

Hutton is playing his last year as a Canuck .

My issues with the current Canuck regime is more to do with cumulative frustration more than anything. 45+ years of mediocrity should have that effect on a fan base. Shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

TL and JB will feel the heat more than anyone even if they don’t deserve all of it. Part of the job and why these guys make millions.

All underlying metrics show that Stecher had an unlucky year offensively. I'd expect him to get at least double the points this year if he gets the same ice time.

if he gets Hutton money, it is a issue though. Everyone keeps saying "Its not a big deal, the salary cap is going up". This is such an awful motto (not point at you directly). The salary cap is EVERYTHING. Maybe less to non contending teams, and maybe less to teams who are void a few superstars, but this is a salary cap run league, and cap management to me is so important in the success (near or far) of a franchise. Hutton and Stecher at 2.8 may not seem significant, but when you add LE/Beagle/Hutton/Gudbranson/DelZotto/etc etc etc, it really starts to add up, and you have to ask if you are getting a good return on your investment.

Pouliot brings what Stecher brings and is paid accordingly. Stecher can accept it or find a new team to play with and we can move Pouliot in his slot

If someone bragged or is bragging about their personal appearance then they've opened the door, concrete foundation.
Plus I never made fun of dragons appearance, I made fun of his vanity and the fact that he uses a picture of himself flexing as his avatar, but I don't really see Benning trying to market himself as a piece of street meat.

I'm simply agreeing with Makita that it's childish to make fun of someone's appearance unless they are trying to draw attention to it. It's ok to make fun of JB's record as a GM but give me a break if you actually think that his appearance impacts his actual job as a GM.

Hot chick burning burgers or a fat chef grilling gourmet patties, I'd rather eat the gourmet burgers myself, but you and the rest ofthe teenagers can knock your boots out playing the popularity card. : thumbsup:

I'm just trying to get the morning hate on.

I'm saying I view Hutton as an isolated incident because at the time the contract wasn't outrageous, nobody expected his work ethic to drop off or for him and Green to have issues.

Stecher has shown consistent work ethic and the ability to play at the NHL level. I see him as a safer bet as opposed to Hutton who still needed to take steps forward to merit his contract.

I'm saying he is a safe bet to produce this year. He is also our 3rd best defensive Dman after Tanev and Edler
