Spitballin only & idk if I’m crackers...
Horton/Kadri/1st for Tanev/Gaunce
Leafs get cap relief & their shutdown D
We get a 2C & Sutter becomes more expendable. TDL asset options.
AG can develop in Utica or a call-up.
We eat a salary dump for a late 1st.
Gaunce is a cheap contract logjam dump.
Leafs can absorb him easily enough. |

Not with them being able to negotiate ahead with EK, if he's traded the signing will be instant. - neem55
Exactly. So whoever wants him will have to trade for him. |

Gotta love the fact that thanks to FA being smart enough to put TL in front of the camera, he doesn't have to answer any questions about where he wants the team to go and how he wants it to get there. Don't kid yourself, he needs the team to do well or he's screwed financially, especially with him buying the Stealth and trying to buy the BC Lions/Whitecaps and maybe even bringing the NBA back to Vancouver just so he can compete with MLSE. Wouldn't be surprised to see him try and buy TSN Vancouver 1040 and a local TV station in order to rebrand it as Canucks TV. - DariusKnight
He should. It's better than Leaf's TV being sold as western regional just because the Canucks get honourable mention once in a while or seldom a spotlight when something positive is happening.
It definitely can't be said that FA is trying to ice a team to market today. He would have fired JB and Linden by now based on their total lack of success at icing a winning roster. JB's only strength, drafting... extended. The investment in JB is a long term reward one.
You probably are right about Linden. The choice has a massive "deflection" factor based on past love for him. If he was someone else... I imagine he would have been tarred and feathered long ago by the media. They are critical... but soft. Same with the fan base. With that being said, other people have been handed high up front office jobs with Linden's type of experience(Shanny is just one).

He's not bad, if we didn't suck as much as we do thanks to Gillis going all in and failing to win a Cup after 2011 and burying us in NTC/NMC contracts, he'd probably not take as much heat as he does. It doesn't help that you had the team's TV/radio rights moved to Rogers instead of TSN and then having the old "Sports Page Alums" go full troll on the team to keep themselves relevant and to keep up their ratings to save their jobs. |

I'm not dismissing it. he makes 7.25 mil and scores 40 points. It's for 4 more years. It's bad but it's not buyout worthy as he can actually still play. Two prospects? were talking about a top 10 player in the league. Ottawa has plenty of cap space. - neem55
EK should be a first, top prospect and a top 6 young player
To me you don’t need all 3 to be high end ....but 2 of them should be
Everyone seems to freak out when teams might have to give up a guy they drafted high recently ....keys just remember that draft picks no matter how high can end up not as good as we hoped ....elite players today are in fact that ...elite |

Shanahan was in pretty high demand, lots of hockey ops experience.

This is exactly my point. Miro looks great, top end for sure. Could be only top4 in the show though, cause you never know until they do it. Now that it's not EK on a rental, but him for 8 years, the price should and will be sky high. |

Foote, Cirelli and 1st gets it done and the scary thing is they still have a decent amount of talented prospects after that. Hedman and Karlsson as a pair is just so scary. |

Yep, I agree. I really liked when Gillman was on 1040. That crew of clowns was forced to completely tone down their narratives about how the organization is run compared to other franchises when he was on the air. They dropped the assertions and baseless rumours. They didnt even try to sell any of Gillis' garbage accusations any time I listened with LG on.
I just about said that I stopped going to 1040 since Gillman went to the Leafs but remembered they are done. Shows my interest.

Gilman was excellent on 1040. I’m in the same boat as you, that was the only time I bothered to tune in. |

I can see the Sens squeeze out more.
TBL has the assets if want EK bad enough.
Problem is can another team push them up. |

TB should do it, it would be really disappointing for them to not win a cup with some of the teams they’ve had over the last few years.
Stamkos, Kucherov, Hedman, Karlsson
And you have guys like McDonagh, Sergechev, Vasy, Palat, Point, Stralman, Gourde, Miller as well.
(Assuming Killorn and Johnson get traded as cap casualties) |

So everyone is doing some investigating.
Apparently Tyler Soy is a legit 6 foot tall player and Hughes apparently looks just as tall as him in development camp...
So if that’s true, was Hughes purposely trying to tabk his draft stock to avoid MTL/OTT horror shows? Was he trying to get drafted close to home in Detroit or Chicago?
His stock 100% goes up if he measured 6’ foot at the combine
Pure speculation since everyone is just eyeballing his height lol |

To Ottawa - Ben Hutton, Nikolay Goldobin, 2020 1st (Dal), 2019 2nd (Dal), 2020 2nd (Van)
To Dallas - Erik Karlsson
To Vancouver - 2019 1st (Dal), Miro Heiskanen, Bobby Ryan (full salary) - 1970vintage
???? So we trade
Hutton, Goldy and a 2nd
and that gets us
2019 1st(DAL), Hèiskanèn, Ryan
seriously. |

TBL have $4.45 cap space
Need 2 players 21/23
$$$’s out needed to trade for EK
1 of those 2 seem a part of it |

That’s probably pure bs. Hughes looks small next to Woo who is 6ft. Soy is lying about his height? |

if Hughes is 5'11" or 6' that would be amazing, I doubt he is currently much over 5'10" though. |

Whether sooner or later idc
1st is Kadri an option in a deal/package?
Moving forward...
We get Kadri & trade Sutter sooner or later
What do we get in return from what team(s)?
Dallas-Spezza/pick
NYI-top prospect insert name
TBL-top prospect insert name
Last chance TDL frenzy...
Offload depth for picks
Namely Sven, Hutton & Tanev/Sutter if aound
Gagner at anytime possible-expendable
Goldy for the right deal only
