"will be" but hasn't played an NHL game... pretty sure that's a prospect CanucksDrumpf. I said A prospect, but it's still a prospect. Plus one more prospect for the best dman in hockey (Actually I like Hedman more, but most people think EK is number 1)
- neem55

Anyone that would choose EK over Hedman is an idiot. Dumping That contract is worth a first round pick so you are essentially giving up a top 3, and two additional first round picks for one year of a guy with injury concerns. Dorion makes you look brilliant. Event if it’s a sign and trade you are paying $11MM per. Horrible value

That's actually all I have, it blows my mind that anyone thinks 2 prospects is EK + Ryan's value. Just... wow.

Have a look at this Norfolk Admirals and Hershey Bears roster and see if anything sticks out for you.

What about the opportunity cost of the asset you would lose for ridding yourself of BR? Pretty large item you are dismissing

I'm not dismissing it. he makes 7.25 mil and scores 40 points. It's for 4 more years. It's bad but it's not buyout worthy as he can actually still play. Two prospects? were talking about a top 10 player in the league. Ottawa has plenty of cap space.

Not even close. You have never had a clue it’s priceless. And Heiskanen is more than a “prospect” for (frank)sakes. Kid will be a stud.
- CanuckDon

i thought ottawa wanted heiskanen for EK but sakic wouldn't hence the hold up on a trade

You mean Nill?

Apparently Cody Glass was the deal breaker for Vegas at the TDL

Ottawa definitely wants an elite prospect in the deal, not sure they’ll get one though

I've heard roster player, top prospect and pick is the ask.

I rate Heiskanen higher than you and you rate EK higher than me lol. I think he will fall pretty quickly and his contract will be a disaster. If he had 4 years left at $7 mill per id agree

That’s pretty generic though. And it depends on the quality of prospect or roster player.

If Dallas is sending Klingberg in the deal then the pick and prospect won’t be anything amazing. If Dallas is sending Heiskanen then the roster player and pick probably won’t be anything great either.

Its what happens. You want to finish low to draft elite prospects. These prospects then do well and carry the team out of the bottom 3... and the GM is a retard for it. He's also a retard for leaving holes in the team that should make the tankers happy but the young kids overcome it to some degree anywys. GM is a retard. If the team stayed healthy with those glaring holes... we finish even higher in the standing. It really is a no win situation for any GM that comes here and doesnt turn the team over in 3 years. Not going to happen with the unmovable Sedins on the team and no change of ownership. GM is a retard.

Gotta love the fact that thanks to FA being smart enough to put TL in front of the camera, he doesn't have to answer any questions about where he wants the team to go and how he wants it to get there. Don't kid yourself, he needs the team to do well or he's screwed financially, especially with him buying the Stealth and trying to buy the BC Lions/Whitecaps and maybe even bringing the NBA back to Vancouver just so he can compete with MLSE. Wouldn't be surprised to see him try and buy TSN Vancouver 1040 and a local TV station in order to rebrand it as Canucks TV.

I could see Miro, Faksa and high pick. I like Hieskanen, but Karlsson is a rare player to be able to trade for.

Similarly, in Colorado I could see Makar, Compher and a pick.

A similar trade with Brannstrom out of vegas.

He won’t sign an extension with Ottawa, so teams know they can wait one year and make their best pitch, or they can offer an attractive package meow and get him locked up for 8 more years. Guess it depends on how bad you want him...

Yzerman is in the same boat with Foote. He’s been unwilling to part with him in the past but for EK, I’m sure he’s on the table.

Ya, I don't see them pulling the trigger without some serious return. If they have to leave Ryan out to get it, I'm guessing they will.

They 100% should leave him out if it. Don’t let BR take away from a great return

Not with them being able to negotiate ahead with EK, if he's traded the signing will be instant.

I would 100% pull the trigger on taking BR on if they were to give us White or Chabot
