It was really "Old School" of all those here, who actually started the Hank beating at sometime in the past two days? I was thinking it might have been a Devils' fan troll, with the exception for tom who I saw stuck up for Hank. I also saw that tom blamed for one, his ex Rangers "favorite", with the initials of R.N., who appears that he will need the services of some RN's, unless he does what's best for his health in calling it a career. - RangerSaver
Jimbo kinda agreed with me there. So Saver, baby, embrace... |

My point is, they’re are defining moments when a player, in this case a goalie, needs to be do something above an beyond, Lundqvist has never achieved that moment in the playoffs. Who knows, maybe if he wasn’t making 8.5 mil a year, they could have made a bigger move at the deadline those years, to help the puny offense. Let’s not for get Ric Nash, brought in at 7.8 mil did nothing in the playoffs. - OLDSCHOOL#6
Was it also Hank's fault why the refs missed an obvious penalty call, when a Kings player was resting on top of Hank while in his goal crease, while another Kings player deposited the puck in the net, in a Finals game the Rangers went on to lose in OT?
That non call ONLY LED to a change of the rules the very next season on goalie interference. |

You meant them re-signing Pavelec after Hank's contract ends. |

#Isles Transaction: The team has acquired Matt Martin from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Eamon McAdam.

There goes the idea of acquiring Martin. - airjan23
I heard that rumor of the Isles interested in reacquiring Martin this morning. However, yesterday, James Mirtle of "The Athletic" had mentioned he heard Martin "could potentially be moved to the Rangers". Who is the protection for our kids going to be, unless they are counting on Beleskey to be just that?
So in effect, you can say that the Isles did get something from Toronto for Tavares after all. But it also required dealing Eamon McAdam with him, in exchange for Komarov and Martin. Uncle Lou's plan must be to turn the Isles into a goon team, with them already having Clutterbuck, and some others capable in that role. |

Sounds like Islanders close on Robin Lehner. - jimbro83
Lehner, as opposed to the Buffalo's first choice a few seasons ago, could be this time, NHL teams' LAST possible option to go to for a new #1, as per why he still has remained unsigned as of the start of today. |

But not Lundqvist - Slimtj100
Hank will so after being run on some occasions, to the point that he just may then change his mind, and demand a trade to a Cup contender, to prevent him from ending up with Nash's current health worries. |

Assuming that he truly protects the kids. Not a huge fan of adding $2.5 mil in salary for someone who might be on fourth line. I would have been okay with it as he would add - sorry had to do it - jam to that trio, but he gets to go back home. Isles have lots of fourth liners now. |

Robin Lehner signed, one-year deal, $1.5 million with Islanders. Very weak commitment by Isles and Lehner on make good contract. |

That's why I earlier wrote that as opposed to Buffalo making Lehner NHL teams' first goalie target a few summers ago in their case, (instead of for two, a Talbot, and also a Jones, via an initial trade to Boston prior to landing in San Jose), Lehner was now just about NHL teams' last target this off season to be either a #1, or this time, even have only a split role or back up role only. Hence, his 1 year term only, along with much less than his $4M prior cap hit. |
