Because it's so unusual for a player that felt like he was jobbed to say something about it as he starts a new chapter in his career.

So we also signed jimmy Hayes and Stefan Elliot? Pretty nice little signings for injury call ups.

Yea exactly, it's happened before,it'll happen again. It's whatever we can all have a good laugh, I personally love it. The best is when Kessel scores on cbus, Torts just loses it lol.

Hayes may win a spot if Rutherford's earlier comments hold up. I hope not, but JR.

Hey, if he's playing good and contributing why not? If he's crap then yea that would be bad but can't hurt to have all these options for the fourth line.

I don't remember his exact words but he said something about a couple smashers or tougher grinders or something...can't find the quote.

But I agree to an extent with you; I certainly don't want to stunt or completely prevent the growth of the young guys. Hopefully he can be a good 13 or 14.

What exactly happened to him? He seemed to have two solid years in a row then two crap years? Injuries?

After that year with Boston, I have no idea why he dropped off. My best guess is the coaching change. Good size, but I don't remember how well he skates.

I know right? What's JJ gonna say? "You know, I've just really, really sucked for the past couple of years and last year CBJ finally got the defensive depth they needed to send my ass to the press box. Looking for a new start in Pitt where I think their defensive depth is is a bit weaker and I think I can still crack the lineup!"

I think he could pull off Brassard + Maatta for Trouba+Dano...question is, if he could, would we be better off?
- mventres

this would be a terrible trade. I like Trouba a lot but... Brassard>>>>Dano. I just don't see any situation where trading Brassard makes the Pens a better team. Pens have awesome forward depth. Maybe they need a 2LW, but Brassard can play it.

I think the cullen signing might be a sign that they'll try Brassard out at wing. And, I'd like to see Cullen passing to Sprong a little. His playmaking would be nice with Sprong's shot.

Yea that's a damn solid lineup, those are the lines I'm hoping for. And yea I'm against trading Brass especially at his cap hit he's valuable to us.

With Johnson.....he's honestly getting paid like a 4/5. The Pens have to like something in his game to commit that many years. I don't like the signing necessarily for that long, but his style and athleticism do kinda fit the pens mold. He turns the puck over less than any Pens D except Schultz also. Soooo..... Whatever.

I'm not high on Brassard not playing center. I think that's a waste of his bargain contract. Especially when that would put a guy like Rust on the fourth line. It's not sexy, but Rust and Hagelin should be our middle six left wings.

Yea our forward depth is pretty damn good. Think about last year this time compared to now, we didn't even have a third line center now we have a 5th line center lol

I don't think it matters where he plays as long as he does and produces it's not a waste. Especially come playoff time if he turns it up I'm good with wherever he plays.

The ONLY thing that man has said right in my opinion was when he said he would “bench anyone who doesn’t stand for the anthem”.

Brassard on the third and Sheahan on the forth should be the majority lineup. Cullen isn't playing every game.

On paper, that's a great group of forwards. However, there's definitely some question marks. If Cullen can still play, what a transformation of the 4th line!

My reason for possibly trading Brass is I absolutely hate the concept of letting assets walk for nothing.

It happens though with teams that are going for championships we can't just move him because his contract is up if he's gonna give us a better chance to win. Hey it could be worse, think of Islanders fans right now. I feel for them
