They're gonna have to do something if he isn't with Patrick or, more specifically, Voracek -- I don't know what, exactly -- but something to bridge the gap to Frost. They can't pay JVR 7 large and not have him with a playmaker who can get 25 primary assists. I like JVR's skillset, but he does need a guy to get him the puck - AllInForFlyers
JVR is the best finisher on the roster. You want to get him with either Giroux or Voracek. |

I heard he has a shooter tutor. He will be bringing it to training camp in September. |

I only skimmed but was it mentioned that JvR is money in the shootout? I'm not sure about last season but two seasons ago, he had something crazy. Like ten attempts and missed once all season. |

Cool. Hak will probably slot him to shoot 7th then. |

Seeing all these deals for bottom 6 forwards and bottom pairing defenseman I actually appreciate hextall patience. He got his guy to a solid deal and than passed a lot. I still expect a secondary free agent on a 1 year before it's all said and done |

Hextall used free agency the way it should be used. To get a quality player to fill a vital need (true sniper/goal scorer on the wing). I'm really glad he didn't overpay for bottom six, bottom pair talent and that he didn't overpay in any trades.
I still think in the next few days that he'll probably sign a 4C PK guy and a 6/7 depth Dman, but I think he'll wait until the prices come down to do so.
If he can also find a way to move Neuvirth and bring in a more durable guy to tandem with Elliott, it will have been, IMO, a very successful offseason. |

Are Lyons and stolarz still eligible to stash in the ahl or would they have to get waived ? Lyon played well enough I think he would get claimed. |

I am feeling a trade for possibly a top 4 defender. Maybe it's Simmonds to a team that missed on scoring in FA. But just get the sense they are still going to do more. |

Both would have to pass waivers. But remember, there's no point in claiming a player unless you plan on playing him in the NHL because, once you demote him, he has to go on waivers again. |

Yeah, and G isn't moving back to center after the year he and Coots had together. I keep seeing people suggest G move back to center and I just don't get it. |

I don't understand why everyone wouldn't be rooting for a top 6 like this:
G Coots TK
JVR Patrick Jake |

They think line two is too weak on defense. I'm fine with it. It's not like Jake and Patrick are Briere out there. |

Not a center but a PK guy i like still out there is Tommy Wingles.
De Haan is still out there. Sbisa would interest me if it was a short term deal like 2 years.

It's the 3C hole, I would think. If you slot G back to 1C, you go G-Coots-Patrick down the middle.
So I get it, I just don't agree with it. |
