Can you tell me about O'Brien? All I know is the report on him that we all read, tiger.
I admire your love for schenn though.
I have a man crush on Patrick!
Will I see you at the sausage pride rally? - Myfreedomisback
I asked you to tell me about O'Brian because you said you would rather have him over Schenn. I was just looking to be informed about Jay O'Brian. I was hoping you could help me. |

I agree with you. I've never been impressed much with Leier. Skates well but not much else. - MJL
Yup, he can have a nice career for a while as an NHL/AHL tweener, but that's about as far as he'll likely go. |

Guess this will allow Winnipeg to re-sign Trouba.

Islanders bringing back Thomas Hickey. Well, if that doesn't convince JT to get out of town I don't know what will.

The right call, they have nobody to replace Trouba with Enstrom on his way out. |

I want to make something very clear before I hear more never ending Schenn comments hurled towards me.
The Flyers did miss Brayden Schenn this past season. If they didn't, the JvR signing doesn't happen. We got a good return for Schenn, not great. We still took on a bad contract, anchored to a bad player. The two players we drafted with the two first rounders we received in return look promising but we won't know how good they are until five years down the road, which is fine but that's still long down the road. Today we signed a bigger, less physical, older, more expensive Brayden Schenn.
I'm fine with all of this. I think we needed a scoring winger and we got one. Although I don't see how JvR as a skater helps the speed of this team with Lehtera and Weise on it. - SuperSchennBros
You could also say the Flyers missed PEB last yr too. Definitely would have helped their woeful PK.
It’s water under the bridge. BSchenn was a very good player. Hopefully the two 1st round picks pan out. Potentially they both seem likely to.
I’m more worried that signing JVR means goodbye Wayne. I know intangibles don’t score goals but Wayne does both. Very difficult to replace him imo. |

Frost and Farabee, the #14 pick was from St. Louis. - BiggE
Lol! Thanks man!
Cannabis is legal here in Colorado and I can't help myself from these wake n bakes. But i say dumb (frank)ing stuff when I do this. I fully convinces myself that it was O'Brien too! Today is great! |

Since we are into bringing back players for a second stint - trade Neuvy somewhere and bring back Mason on a 1 year deal |

I would choose Simmonds over JVR eight days a week but the sum of adding JVR along with a quality return for a trade of Simmonds could make the team better in the long run.

So you would rather a newly drafted player who you know nothing about over a bonafied top six player in the NHL....all day? |

Seems to me most likely, hopefully we're wrong. I think the Flyers need more of what Simmonds brings to the game, not less of it. |

I actually believe JvR is the better player. Simmonds just had intangibles like being a heart and soul player. Simmonds is also tough as nails. |

When you get to draft not one but two players with top-six upside, yes. Schenn does not make players around him better but becomes better himself when he is playing with high-end guys. He's valuable but not enough to where turning down two first-round picks would have been anything but foolish. FWIW, both Frost and Farabee have the potential to make linemates better. |

I don’t hate the guy, but I’m trying to remember a time when Simmonds was a consistent physical presence out there 5 on 5.
He’s damn good as a net front PP guy but beyond that? I like him, would keep him if the deal is right but I’m not in love with Wayne. |

I really would. Schenn never fit in here, which was a disappointment. I thought he looked great his first season. He was like Richards 2.0 to me.... but then he lost that edge. He stopped throwing the body checks and remained too streaky. I was disappointed because I had high hopes for him.
I think frost is the real deal. Even when his line mates went odd to represent their countries frost did well and Carried the play. Imagine is frost made it to the draft this paat season....where would he have been picked?
I am with hexy and am looking towards the future and moving schenn definitely helped the future. We won't know for a few more seasons how that trade plays out but for right now i think hwxy won that trade. Hell.... st louia didnt even make the playoffs so it's not like schenn is a game changer.
I admit it was cool to havw the schenns both here but they both underperformed for me.
Sorry about the sausage joke. We are both cheese steak guys and it was uncalled for 😉🌭🌭 |

How would you feel if Simmonds plays out his year here and then walks out as a UFA for no return other then helping them this year?
I think this scenario is pretty likely unless the offers for him are so good they then trade him. Coming off an injury and no long term deal he is a one year rental, which lowers his trade value. |
