I wish we would overpay on a 1 year contract to move the player at tdl and eat a little salary.

I'm afraid of commitment with some of these players. some are old and I'm still not sure how well others will age with a league that keeps getting quicker.

Neal is coming off a $5Mx5 or $5Mx6 contract and is now 30. I imagine he is looking for a longer term deal...but how about $6Mx3 with a promise to trade him to a contender? Retain salary if necessary...take the picks from a playoff-bound team...someone will value him for the second season (20 GP, 6G 5A last year).

Also put up 44 points / 25G & 19A in 71 games during the season.

Would he go for that?

@Vantel, yeah ROR shutting down JT for years would be great... and then if MTL went on to win the cup in the next 2 or 3 seasons... it'd be even better.
Patches, ROR and kokanee as their top 3 centres 2 years down the road... not sure who else they got but i'm sure with those 3 they'd be formidable...

I am almost speechless.

I thought Neal had a pretty good season and the team he played for had a great season.

the 4.3 mil sounds like it is a show me sort of offer.

not sure what 25 goals are worth, but I would have guessed a little more. and I'm not sure how many ufa's are available with similar production.
