Sure Chris Kunitz would add "something" to the Hawks. But that is "would be" (until official) a total bargain basement signing like others we have seen. He's 38 and wearing down. Ugh.

Well since Stan Bowman is striking out at wheeling and dealing, then maybe he needs to Grow a set of balls and not care about other general managers feelings and throw a couple of offer sheets out there To an RFA like Boone Jenner someone of the same mold. Chris Kunitz Is near 40 years old. This is totally disgusting, Bowman flapped his jaws about rolling up the sleeves and getting to work, sounds to me like all that happened to him or someone kicked him in the ass and stole his candy off the school yard lot. I hope Rocky is looking at slashing ticket prices in the future by about 20%, just like his dad had to do back in the early 2000‘s.

Now here is a guy who is hard to play against, can skate, mean as a pole cat and is listed at 5ft 11in 195lbs. Never see the Hawks come home with or draft many guys like this.

The fascinating thing about how this whole free agent shopping period has morphed is that not one of these reported “done deals” with terms etc is anything more than a verbal agreement until paper can be exchanged/agreed to at noon.

Hinting maybe some of the already reported may be wrong? Hmmmm

I am a White Sox fan...but bet on Cubs to win the W.S. Would pay me about $1,100 if they win. So if they want to trade for Machado right now...I am 100% behind them.

Hey, VGK is for real. GM has giant brass balls. Good for him/them. Stan? Not so much.

Harper and Machado? That is silly (polite version) talk. One or the other? Sure. Nats won't let Harper go in-season. Would be a UFA signing. Cubs would have to move JaHey or he opts out, both very unlikely. Machado? Sure, if they can sign him right away, no rental. Addy, Happ + 2 solid prospects gets that done. Intangible: Cubs will not go over luxury tax threshold for the 2018 season.

If these numbers are even close to true then kudos to Stan for staying away.
