I'm confused. Pettersson is a center right or is he a LW? I think he should play in the NHL the coming season so why would you need another center?

I've always been in the minority here, I don't really care or get upset over who gets the most coverage on sportscenter or sportsnet's channels and websites. So I don't hate the leafs as a team as much as many here do.

Maybe I'm not remembering it clearly, but I don't believe Doan was actually every reportedly "on the edge of signing" with the Canucks. It was rumoured that he was down to choosing between the Canucks and Yotes and he eventually chose to stay where he was comfortable.

You are forgetting details. He laid out a ultimatum and a deadline about ownership. The deadline passed and if it were between the Canucks and the Yotes and he wasn't bluffing, it stands to reason he would of signed with the very least another team if not the Canucks. If it is to be more accurate, the situation could be described with a blank space in place of Vancouver. None the less, heard dozens of people call Van the runner up or describe how close we were to having Doan and my point remains even the media told this narrative,,,, but he was bluffing. It may have been about comfort when all was said and done but the ultimatum was a bluff all the way to push the team he wanted to stay with to improve their chances at being competitive. This is what I'm comparing the situation to with Tavares.

How did you arrive to this conclusion? Having a 1-2 punch down the middle that good is exactly what every team dreams of. Only Pittsburgh's duo would be better and those guys carried a d-group full of no names to a stanley cup.

Something would have to give between 3 huge salaries. Marner would likely be the one moved if they got JT. But Matthews just strikes me as the guy who wants to be the center of attention. He would not be that with JT in town.

This is what I've been laughing about. Matthews pissed about limited ice time in the playoffs. JT going to be the #1 C. Team will still be a defensive black hole. Matthews looks like a selfish punk the more I pay attention. I don't see Matthews long term on the Leafs if JT signs there.

Lou steals Matthews in a lop sided deal and the Leaf's still are a dinamo up front but like the Islanders... still not a cup team even with JT. That is a wet dream to me.
