Ryan Callahan, Braydon Coburn and Cal Foote for Chris Tanev

TBay calls up JT and gives him 7 x 12 with no state tax or reduced whatever it is and a life on the beach.

I thinl JT is gonna go to TO though. 7 x 12

- Jkuzzi

Foote is apparently untouchable

I do find it strange that Vancouver is getting into a bidding war over 4th line talent.

Remember when Toronto broke the bank on Matt Martin, and now they can't get rid of him unless they pay someone to take him.

All i can say is you must luv Foote & he is a lock to be good. TBL need no favours from us.

I don’t see us in this so-called bidding war.
What i do see is possibly the other teams will force us out & thats fine by me.

I think they are going to need to shed some longer term salary if they are foot to sign JT.

Johnson or Kilhorn would likely need to be moved in addition to one of the anchors you mentioned.

They’d likely move Johnson.

No need for him if you have Stamkos-Tavares-Point down the middle

So just to patch it all together

Benning "we want to be faster and younger. We want to emphasize speed and skill"

Benning in free agency - targets Beagle, Reaves, Maroon..

Lol this team

This ream is going to add a little depth whether cry babies like it or not.

We’re all fine with depth. Just not 33 year olds on 3 year deals and slugs who can’t forecheck(something this team sorely lacks).

If you want a physical slow guy then just keep Archibald for peanuts.

Somewhat sketchy rumor site has these as offers for JT

Just want to reiterate this again. SJS's offer to Tavares is for 7-years at around $13M per, TOR's offer to Tavares is for 1-year at $15.9M with an extension on Jan 1st, 2019 for 8-years at $10.5-$11M AAV., NYI offer is for 8-years at $11-11.5M per. Interesting offers.
If Toronto pulls this off i wonder there will be hell to pay with the league. Last time Toronto tried this kind of stuff with the Sedins they got caught.....maybe lose some draft picks ?

Wait, you took Benning's quote about what they are focussing on at the draft and flipped it to free agency. Did he not just Draft the best skater in the draft followed by good skating Woo and super fast Madden and that super fast Russian kid? All young???? This is borderline lies is what it is.

Look how far you are going to cry about so little....

I don’t believe this random site but TO and other teams would be smart to offer deals like this.

They’ll still sign him. Otherwise that agent is gonna skill the beans and tell all other agents not to trust TO and ever sign there.

I’m sure the league will “investigate” but how can they prove anything?

Never know, league might disallow an extension and make him an ufa again without Toronto getting the extra year add- on and perhaps losing their pick and some fines. I know Toronto has a lot of clout but theres going to be a lot of p-offed owners ,not just the ones bidding on JT. I can see Montreal and Boston lighting a fire under Bettman as well
