depends on the contract, but he seems like a decent target for depth/versatility. I would pass if it turns into a mini bidding war. Same with Roussel.


I still like the idea of signing Tim Schaller for like 1.25M. He's willing to drop the gloves and is actually a decent 4th liner.

Yeah. Vanek was a good pickup, just the return for him was a bit disappointing. I would have preferred picks over Motte and Jokinen.

If we don't go crazy (LE) and sign more deals (MDZ, Gagner) and flip them, then I won't complain either.

I agree but it was probably the best or only offer. JJ is gone & Motte is Utica fodder. He could be gone too while others are similar talents in the U.

I'm guessing an analytical guy like Dubas has more interest in Tanev than their actual fanbase does. I still would be surprised to see him give up Nylander for Tanev +. I assume he'll offer picks + prospects.


Benning should just hold onto Tanev until he regains his value before this past season.

We are in the position while filling up the prospect pool where as cap/contract space is our biggest weapons. Used wisely is top priority now & for the future. JB has done pretty good drafting & high time he follows it up as the above states. Crucial times for him & to show some game & put his naysayers to rest. If he fails he is doomed & i’ll be on the wagon to push for it.
