Well his 7 goals are double what Henrik had ............

No positivity from you. If he signed in Philly Hextall would be regarded as a god

I like the player, but 3 years(potentially) at his age is a worry.

Give him a 1yr deal at more $$$?
Doesn’t matter with our cap space.
If JB is bent on him that is.

I’d say good skater, defensively responsible, faceoff guy, can PK as well.

Looking at his hits/PIM totals, he’s not exactly a tough guy or a wrecking ball.

I’ve wanted him in the past when he was just a boring UFA and available for cheap.

Fair, I think it's another high character guy. I get the reservation but three years is fine as long as it's not too much. No way he takes a short term deal with a rebuilding team.

the word buyout and Canucks just doesn't make much sense. We have tons of cap space. I'd love to get picks by picking up either Spezza or Mason, that is the moves I would like to see. If SJ picks up JT they may need some relief also

When i go into dream mode...

It starts with teams making a PO or cup push & need cap space. From there its kick tires & use our cap space as much as possible. Contract space is important to us but also a weapon but we have room there as well. As long we accumulate no more than say 2 more that is fine. Otherwise we only sign 1 UFA C. Lots could happen in the middle.

Adding to if we could swing deals to take cap dumps its about getting picks for the VanDraft aka VD🙃

Its either a quiet time for trades or exploit this year as much as possible. Next iffseason i don’t see big splashs when the kids take spots & settle in. My biggest concern is contract management & not tie our hands up. Come the next TDL it could be our biggest ever potentially.

remember when Benning and Brackett were going after speed and skill.

That was fun while it lasted.

good pickup if it's 1-2 years. easily gets a 2nd plus at the tdl.

Ya, not a fan of that potentially signing. Another Sutter-type on this goal starved team? 🤢

Trading him off at the TDL should be the only reason to sign him imo. Beagle is completely useless to us based on his role and the teams needs

Beagle isnt a bad skater.

Just not a fan of that "stanley cup" premium you have to pay.
if Washington gets knocked out in the 2nd round he probably gets half the term and maybe half the money.

he is just classic meat and potatoes/defense first. Which is essentially another Sutter (IMO). I have soo many hesitations about giving a 33 year old UFA, term... and potentially AAV... We are trying to get younger/faster I thought.

I have always preferred that you don't give more than 2 years term to UFA's, and more than 2.5 million AAV. I don't think you build a team through free agency. I would rather the Canucks stayed quiet in regards to UFA's, and used their cap space to acquire picks/prospects for teams looking to shed a little. I look at WPG, and they have some really tough decisions coming up with their RFA's and cap

Beagle is a stop gap only. If he fetched a pick at the TDL its a win. At worst a 4th but for the right team as high as a 2nd if lucky
