stone on an offer sheet costs only a 1st, 2nd and 3rd. we could turn around and trade him for more than that.

i think you take advantage of the buy low opportunity on stone until something better comes up to address the defense.

Faulk was just an example but Carolina has a lot of defense so Faulk and a defensive prospect or pick could be Tanav and a prospect there are many ways to get this done and it does not have to be Nylander but he needs the big extension so it's the most logical

I agree with this. Would also move brown back to Kadri line as shut down unless we've traded him in this scenario. Have a 4th line of grundstrom lindholm (if he's any good) kapanen.

I think they did ok with Hainsey - not great, but at $3 million serviceable 4-5 guy. I think Montreal did not so okay with Alzner and Petry, $5 million a piece for two stiffs that helped sink the team into the sewer. Point is, very easy to overpay for Meh- dmen. Stars get paid, make good deals on the supporting cast, rinse and repeat.
