Stamkos makes 8.5 mil/year. I know he's at a discount but I think it'd be tough to defend Tavares making 4 mil more than him

Homegrown talent is the best

There is no way I would pay Doughty 10 mil next year sell him for assets

Not really the point. Sure JT is great but you need balance on the team . If Matthews signs for 12.5 next year and JT 12.5 this year that is 25 mil a little less than 1/4 cap on two players
- VANTEL

More than 1/4. 25 is 1/4 of 100 and the cap after next season will be less than 85m. that is more like 1/3. Marner is also asking Draisatl money apparently.
I would bet that if Toronto signs him it will be at a discount and they will do the same thing they did with Stamkos. Bring the Candian tire CEO, etc and tel him that they will pay him a fortune in endorsement fee's so they can save on cap space.

Or Tim Hortons, or anything Canadian for that matter, they all support the Leafs.

Oh Oh

Further digging indicates they traded both these guys to make room for Jack Johnson.

During the game one of my little birdies told me the ROR trade has already been verbally agreed to. We’re all just waiting. Not sure what the wait is for.

No, not my Sabres twitter secret deep throat guy. Another one... connected though.

He's a good second line center, more offensive version of Horvat. But that contract

The price of star players is going up, teams without star players don’t win. Doughty and Karlsson will get the highest d contracts because they are the best defencemen in the league. Highest current is P.K. I believe, they both will make more and are well worth the price. Tavares at 12 is reasonable but I could see him taking less to try to win like Stamkos. As for not pitching to a player I’m glad you don’t have any influence on the Canucks. It’s a business, players are the product and you have to treat the product well.

JB should be talking to Steve about helping with that cap situation.

With Derrick Pouliot's new contract, the Canucks are inching closer to bringing back the same blue line next season. That's kind of mind-boggling, isn't it?

A look at the deal, the process and the cautionary tale of Derrick's 2012 draft class, in the new blog:

It took my father a couple of seasons to adjust to living at my place down near Green Lake. It is the extended winter he doesn't handle too well. Weather wise,,,, you get a lot of sun in the winter up here... sometimes weeks of it at a time without much snow. Typically cold during the sunny stretches but it's nowhere near as depressing as months of rain to most people. You give away April and May up here to poop weather and June is a real mixed plate. On the other side of the year, really nice Sept Oct up here. Warm sunny in the day and nice cool sleeping weather at night. About mid Oct,,, wintery clouds are showing up and you get some snow here and there but often there will be a Nov nice spell as well before winter settles in.

If rain= down mood and sun= good mood.... Cariboo may work out for you. If cold weather is worse than rain to a person.... well... not many months of just warm weather and even scorching hot period, you still get clear nights that drop to around -0 sometimes.

The 100 mile is absolutely beautiful if not for the elevation it would be a super hotbed

I find Vancouver very small and slow when I come visit from New York. All about context eh? 😜
- NewYorkNuck

Here is an example for ppl commuting
When i lived in North Van & my car was screwed up i marketed lumber to the Middle East for a buddy. Taking the bus & sea bus & 1 bus on transfer with a 20minute walk it took 2hrs to South Surrey near Softball City. Now to most thats a long hike but where else in a major city eg Toronto or Montreal or the States can you go from the north end to the south end in that time by transit? By car it was an 60-70mins.

Geez dude that takes me back lol
My bud got me hooked on D&D over 3 decades ago & it progressed into my favourite reading materials Lord of the Rings etc. The 4 to 20 sided dice were crazy

I love that teams are going out and throwing 13 mil at one player . 2 years from now they will be crying and trying to dump contract
- VANTEL

I honestly believe JT wants to stay at NYI but SJ & Dallas make a lot of sense too. SJ is primed IMO & the Stars are very close.
