He meant did Brock go to development camp last year after playing his 10 games the prior season.
This would explain Gaudette not going, but Pettersson has not played in the NHl at all yet. Same with Dahlen or Juolevi. - Retinalz
Brock went last year. as did Gaudette, Gadjovich, Dahlen, Lind, Lockwood, Petterson and Palmu, among others

That list is very surprising. - manvanfan
Figured 4 or 5 of them would go in the mid rounds. |

That would only explain Gaudette. I think he did not attend camp last year. - Retinalz

low risk signing imo.
if he doesn't fit the bill, waive him and/or send to UTica.
potential options for a UFA LW:
1. Anthony Duclair. Last year salary- 1.2m
5'11, 190lbs
22 yrs old.
56GP 11 12 23pts
2. Tobias Reider. Last year salary - 2.25m
5'11 188lbs
25 yrs old.
78GP 12 13 25pts
3. Antoine Roussel. Last year salary - 2.0m
6'0 200lbs.
28 yrs old.
73GP 5 12 17pts
i'd go with Duclair if given the choice. - dbot
I would go with the pest myself. Where in the line-up would you see Duclair most effective?

3rd/4th liner - dbot
I think it depends on who you put him with, needs more creative players than a pure grinders. Couldn't see him with Sutter and LE, but maybe Ganger or Guadette (though that's a really young duo). |

the players I would keep/we have to keep would be(with some adds from UFA)
Goldobin - Bo - Boeser
JV - Nash - EP
Duclair/Reider - Gaudette - LE
Granlund - Sutter - Gaunce
Gagner
Anyone else traded away. LE kept on there because he is untradable unless we give away assets. Granlund/Gaunce have showen a very good shut down ability and would go well with Sutter. Riley Nash and JV could do well with EP, sign one of Duclair/Reider for 3rd line. Gagner as 13th forward because nobody is trading for him.
I think this is likely as good as it can get for next season. |

Thought he was more of a sniper type but I like his speed. Thinking Granlund 3, Gaunce 4. |

I don't love Goldy up there – he hasn't really shown enough to be 1st line off the blocks. I like Leipsic instead of Gaunce, though he's in the same camp as Goldy for inconsistencies – but you're also missing Baer, and feel he'd bump Goldobin out of that lineup.

I sort of disagree. We talk quite a bit about higher ceilings in here. I think Goldobin has a higher ceiling than Sven. I only see Sven as a third liner. Goldobin was making some pretty slick plays last year turning him into the play maker of that line. |

I think he is tradeable. He could be a season trade if goldy doesn't beat him out for a spot. I think it is a good idea to trade him and give Goldy a chance. Goldy has more skill and a higher ceiling to produce with those 2. |

that's the issue Baer is similar to Goldy and even Leipsic. |

I agree, Goldy has made Baer expendable. He has also shown an ability to play as a top 6. Give him the shot. If he fails we can find options. Dahlen is arguably ready, Duclair/Reider are good enough to play shot-gun as well. |

Trade him for an asset, he has more value than Goldy and is not better for that position. |

I agree Goldy has a higher ceiling, but I don't think he's better than Baer right now. In his career he's scored 12 goals. I just don't think you gift him the top spot right out of camp – if he excels down the stretch and proves himself capable, then ya, you trade Baer at the TDL. Baer is also a bit more consistent, and much more defensibly reliable. |

Good teams stay good by seeing that hey have a guy ready to jump in, trading someone in their way and giving them that shot. This kept Chicago relevant for quite some time, they still are really. It has worked for TB, Washington, etc. Baerschi is expendable and should be traded, Goldy should be given a shot to prove he can do it. We are likely to suck with or without baerschi, get an asset for him and suck with goldy in stead. |
