Nice. Solid price, might have liked two years but still good - neem55
Seems like he wanted to play for the Canucks, which is nice to see.
1.1m, 1 year, 1 way contract. a good show me deal. |

I did see him there. - NorthNuck
Oh well... he's the worst defenseman in the team. If he isn't producing offence, no reason to have him in the lineup. Far worse than MDZ. Tirefire. |

Give him the minutes MDZ had last year and he will 100% outperform him imo, at least in point totals. I'm not saying he's all that great, I'm more suggesting MDZ was pretty useless |

I outlined in a post earlier why i think he makes sense to try in a low level role. If you're not willing to read don't try to act like I'm the stupid one. - NorthNuck
I don't get the love for this guy. Why are you so desperate to see him get a job with this organization. I thought he wanted to go to Ottawa to be closer to family?
Not all players make good coaches or managers.
What has he done that he deserves a job immediately with the Canucks?
Why him and not one of the plethora of recent ex Canucks? |

What makes you think I'm desperate? Actually talking about this weeks ago i suggested that he might prefer to give it a shot in Montreal rather than here but someone else replied maybe he doesn't want to work for that tire fire.
I never suggested he "deserves" anything i just know from what he has said that he wants to get into management and he seems to have characteristics that would help him in doing such, as well as plans to take courses in management. I don't want to make him GM of the canucks but if he's interested try him out in a player dev role in utica or in the echl?
I don't understand you guys getting so triggered at the mere suggestion of this |

He was an embarrassment to the team more often than not. I'm also tired of being the Oilers on the coast, this team has so many members of past teams and have managed sweet f*ck all other than losing a couple of cup finals.I was tired of 4 years of mixed messages and waiver wire hopefuls. I tend to be in a pissy mood after missing the playoffs for the past 4 out of 5 seasons. I'm tired of rewarding past players for their hard work & effort. The Ring of Honour makes me throw up in my mouth. I'm tired of victories being giving other teams cast offs & scraps a second wind.
I'm tired of peoples feelings. |

Just my 25 cents but its his life experience that is the asset. He could be good in a player development role as he could be an example and a mentor to prospects in the food chain.Another exaple might be a Sedin as a strength and conditioning director.
Regardless of how some view the play or antics of a player (burrows) he has learned at the school of hard knocks. The Sedins likewise are known for their incredible fitness regimen and dedication so they might be good working on the fitness levels of the Huttons on the team

You're tired of others peoples feelings but you can't help railing angrily against nearly everything this organization does it seems.
Maybe I'm wrong in this and you're free to believe so but I am of the opinion that just because they didn't take the final step or two towards a championship that isn't a reason to not celebrate the great careers that these players have had.
That said I don't think every great player deserves to be hired on by the organization. I just happen to think Burrows would be well suited to certain roles that are needed in a sports organization. |

The owner builds his team's management, coaches and front office like someone would build a mafia. Local people you've been around your whole life, people you've hired in the past, family, and lots of PR to portray your gang as just the guy next door. Seems like FA is more into security and comfort zone with his staff. The local connection hasnt sold tickets for him in the past so I doubt he sees it that way *anymore*. He's a typical control freak as well.

You DO realize that most of the coaches/GMs in the league nowadays WERE players at some point NHL or otherwise. Most even got their start in the organizations that they had the most success/familiarity with... Case in point, Pat Quinn, Jim Benning, Steve Yzerman, Shanahan, Ron Francis, Rod Brind'amour, Garth Snow (before he was fired), Rob Blake, Travis Green. I could go on, some of them were @$$holes on their teams too. |

There's nothing that supports Hutton taking on more minutes. Unfortunately, his defensive liability was overlooked. I haven't seen progress, he's done nothing to earn more minutes if anything he's earned the 7 spot IMO. |

Burrows is one of those players with low character on the ice. I'm happy to be rid of that kind of culture he and Kesler brought. They were excellent players for us but not anymore so their baggage will never be worth it today. |
