Shouldn't you're Avatar be more abrasive? - neem55
No, Don's should be...
Besides, it can't get more abrasive then Darth Vader and boba fett playing pulp fiction characters. |

This could be good. Pouliot was just starting to get Greens system. He showed it at the end of the season. Iām not ready to give up on him yet. - thundachunk
Agreed.
I hope they can get him signed on a 1-2 year deal. |

I think RJ will be an AGM in Van within a year and take over as GM when Jim's deal is up. He may hold the Utica GM and Van AGM roles at the same time...but maybe Burr gets some consideration for the Utica post if he spends some time shadowing RJ in the meantime..
Interesting post about RJ |

Bob Mac suggesting Plecks could end up back in Mtl - VANTEL
They're more attached to their poopty players than any other fanbase |
|
|
|
I am okay with the D . I would have liked somewhat of an upgrade but it is a serviceable unit |

I would say on an average night only half of our D corps is competent at their jobs. Not good enough. |

No. Like Chunky said, no more handing out jobs because they use to play for them. I want qualified hockey people with experience, who interviewed for the job. |

I think Brackett would be a good future replacement for JB. Guy is intelligent and well spoken. knows hockey as well. |

But realistically, what can you do?
You got 2 good prospects coming up with OJ and Hughie.
Time will tell when they're ready, but probably in another year.
This year you've got pretty much the same thing we had last year, assuming Pouliot is back.
Although, i imagine we'll sign a UFA and/or PTO to see if anything sticks.
Edler-Guds
Pouliot-Tanev
Stetch-MDZ
Hutton-Biega
OJ-Saunter
If OJ is ready, flip Hutton for a 4th rounder at some point.
Trade Edler at the TDL and next year bring up Hughes to play with Tanev.
change takes time. |

I don't really have much issue sticking with what we have but I still think signing Green to a high value short term contract might be a good idea. Could let him score a bunch of points and ship him out at the TDL |

Yeah I definitely agree there's not much to be done this year. I just hope OJ makes the team so there's some kind of tangible change |

It's so true. We're at best a bubble team next year, but likely middle of the road unfortunately. It's going to be two years I think, but it's possible if everything goes right that not this season but the one after we are competitive for a wildcard. But a lot of things need to go right including UFA's, development, health and good old fashioned puck luck. |

Same.
would be good to see if some kids could force JB to dump some of the vets.
bit of a logjam of 3rd pairing D's. |
