Flyers Open 2018 Development Camp June 28

The full roster is here. NAK, Fazleev and Kase aren't going, and Cates is now listed as a defenseman.

- Feanor

Pretty sure the 3 mentioned have had multiple development camps already, no need for them there.

why do I get the feeling the Flyers are in on ROR
- wcorvette

Bc they likely are. Couterier, Patrick, and ROR is very impressive.

What Buffalo wants for him and his contract is not.

I am interested in seeing Ginning. From all I have read about him, he seems like a good fit for us and might not be all that far away from being NHL ready. Not sure what his plans are for 18-19 but AHL in 19-20? I would assume.

Yes, I didn't mention them, but Goulbourne, Martel and Willcox aren't going either. But they are all 1994 birthdays.

Also missing is Brendan Warren, who would have had to pay his own way there as a college player.

I was thinking the same thing; that's an expensive 3C.
- jmatchett383

That's why I keep coming back to Riley Nash. He was under $1mil this season so his cap hit wouldn't be ridiculous ($2-$3 mil???). He is 29 years old so a 3-5 year deal isn't crazy. And he would address our PK need. Not the PK answer but a nice piece.

ROR is just too expensive for a 3rd line center role. He may be worth it but not the way we are set-up for next year.

Bill or one of the experts would know better, but I believe since Ginning was drafted out of Europe he could play in the AHL now. Probably would stay to play in SHL for a year or 2.

Yes, would have to be a trade. I’d offer Gudas, Rubtsov and a top 3 protected 1st in 2019.
- BiggE

They wouldn’t take that for Trouba.

Guys, every team in the league has tape of how Gudas played after his suspension. Especially in the playoffs. Say whatever you want, he has no value.

Nash had a career year likely based on linemates, but he's good for 7-10 goals and 20-25 points a year. I'd be okay, but would try to limit the term.

Keep in mind what the player made the previous year doesn't always reflect on what their demand is. 41 points last year on a good Bs team. He could still ask for a little less than Bozak money. Depends on the demand.

Awh man I’ll never forget that day. Woke up so certain it wasn’t going to be matched. Literally waited until the final hour to match
- arichardson22

At the time I didn't realize just how much the Pronger injury set us back. Fortunately, it seems to have put us on track to draft and develop and our d corps is close. If we can hit on a few more of these kids I'd be happy. Can't wait to see Morin with the big club. Hopefully we hold on to him.

I hope Morin develops as well, but we have a pretty decent wait until we find out.

Everyone had tape on MacDonald and he cost a 2nd and a 3rd and then he got $30,000,000.

The Flyers has tape on Manning and VandeVelde yet made them lineup regulars.

While every team knows what they are getting in Gudas, he’s still a physical RHD who can be a 3rd pairing guy on a contender (imo). We also have to consider his defensive pairing last season was mostly Manning. Teams will also know if you give him a better partner, he may play better. Those two never had good chemistry imo.

Agreed. Demand dictates it. I think he falls in line after Bozak. I can't imagine him getting more than $3 million from a team. And his stats last year were aided (inflated) by top-line minutes (injuries). Still, as a 3rd line center, we need him to be a responsible player and help PK. Top 6 forwards on PP and bottom 6 on PK (in an ideal world).

That happens when you sign/trade for players out of desperation. Every Islander fan said exactly what AMAC would become, unfortunately at least 1 person on the Flyers ignored them and thought differently.

He also played great at the World Champs as the Czech's 1D. Teams watch tape of that, too.

Yeah, probably not. Well, substitute Hagg for Gudas and add a 3rd in 2019 too

MacDonald was having a good year and traded at the deadline. Then the Flyers kept him because he played well for them for the rest of that year.

Completely different from Gudas, who has had one decent season, two years ago, and was atrociously bad last season. Even embarrassed on National TV.

If the Flyers retained some money, teams would still rather have MacDonald than Gudas. (frank)ing guy sucker punched his own captain in an international tournament. He sucks.
