I’m sorry, I was thinking of the previous one.
Gudas still has no value after last season. He was the worst defenseman on the team. That includes Brandon Manning. - Flyers1218

Would you for a guy who needs a new contract (and a big one at that), when you’re in cap trouble (the reason you’re trading the player in the first place), one of the worst defenseman in the league, a prospect that has been blah, a mid to late first round pick, and a 3rd?
At least getting Sanheim you have a player that may be able to do what Trouba did in a few years. - Flyers1218
Unfortunately I don't see it that way. Ever try to sell something before in real life? Then a person tries to buy it off you, but offers you much much less. The moment that person starts to justify how it is the best offer you are going to get that's the moment you know you have what they want. Time to raise the price. If one person wants it, another one will too.
Worst case you don't sell and keep what you have. That's a win-win situation. |

It’s like murder. And I’m fully aware of what I just said.
He was timid on the PK, looked afraid to be called for another penalty. Lost battles in front. Seemed extremely indecisive and late to pucks and reads. Lastly, played lazy and made the lazy play. |

I don’t think you’re wrong. I think you always start lower than what you think it’s worth. I’m not saying there will be no negotiation. I’m just saying they will say no to that deal 10 out of 10 times for a player like Trouba. |

Oh no question they decline the offer. If I am trading someone of value, say Provorov as an example, I want more value back not pieces of equal value. |

My point being is trade value.
Player A is worth X.
So fans take a bunch of pieces that they think adds up to equal X.
Now if Player A is a commodity that is not easily found (50 goal snipers, young defensemen with high ceilings) then for a trade to make sense you need more value than X.
X = 10
Y = Asset1 + Asset2 + Asset3
Status = null;
If (X == RareCommodity)
IF (Y == (X *1.5))
Status = "Good Trade"
ELSE
Status = "Suck It"
ELSE
IF (X == Y)
Status = "Good Trade"

Player A is worth X. Now that he has publicly held out before and is threatening to do so again, he is worth X0 = X *0.5

It's easy to say that about Toronto since their big prospects are on the team. When you put together the young players for the Flyers on the roster now and the depth coming then I feel Flyers have no problem being at the very least on par with Toronto at forward.
Defense and Goalies...edge goes to Flyers. There's a reason the Flyers have one of the top ranked prospect pools for the last couple years and they added even more this year. - Glak18
I expect Matthews and Marner to be the real deal. I'm not saying Patrick and Konecny won't be because I have high expectations for both but I give Matthews and Marner a slight edge over our up and coming two. Nylander is also a damn good player and I expect Morgan Riley to only get better. I expect Provorov to be heads and shoulders better than Riley if he isn't already. |

What’s your point? Brad Marchand didn’t seem phased by being suspended. He’s a 30 goal scorer.
Gudas is a third pair defenseman that admitted that he felt the pressure after his last suspension. And certainly played scared.
Don’t know where you were going on that one. - Flyers1218
The point is that there is no uniformity in how the NHL "Safety" Committe hands out suspensions. That if Gudas had pulled the poop that Marchand did he would have been looking at much lengthier suspensions than Marchand received. As a result, Marchand feels no compulsion to alter his play because the consequence is a slap on the wrist. |

You keep using the phrase "real deal", that doesn't mean anything to me. I think Giroux is better than Brian Boyles because Giroux is the real deal.
Who cares, right?
Once again we all talking about team prospects as a WHOLE....All of them together. Would I trade all Flyer players under 25 to the Leafs for all their players under 25, no I wouldn't. |

I responded to a post and that post involved Toronto as the subject. I broke down how I feel about our prospect pool compared to Toronto's prospect pool days after the draft.
So what exactly is the problem?
I used the phrase "real deal" twice in the last 24 hours and I think it's a little arrogant that you would think that I care about your thoughts or opinions. If you want to have a real conversation, I'm all for it. If my opinion doesn't please you, that's your problem. |

You need to go back and read the thread then. Each time you have selectively chosen a couple guys from Toronto and a couple from the Flyers and stated I think Toronto is better. I even stated multiple times ALL prospects, ALL...ALL....ALL prospects.
Ok your opinion is you think Matthews, Marner and Reily is better than Patrick, Konecny and Provorov....
Let me know when you are ready to join the actual conversation. |

Jmatchette commented on Tavares possibly going to Toronto. That spilled into some Toronto talk.
You took offense to me comparing our prospects to Toronto's. Toronto has pulled themselves out of being an NHL basement dweller and making the playoffs the past couple years. Yes, for now I like there core better.
Anything else you wanna wine about? They drafted themselves out of being a crappy team and now look like they're gonna make the playoffs every year...

The Flyers need to get this man:
World Records
Most consecutive knockouts in a single tournament – 56
Fastest recorded Kumite knockout – 3.2 seconds
Fastest recorded punch resulting in a knockout – .12 seconds
Fastest recorded kick resulting in a knockout – 72 MPH
Shortest knockout time average for fight career – 1:20 sec
First to achieve IFAA Weapons/Forms score of a perfect “10”
First Kumite fighter to exceed 300 matches
First Kumite fighter to be undefeated with over 100 matches
Final Kumite fight record – 329 matches
Chi Kung Tug of War (Standing on one leg) – 66 people, Zug, Switzerland.
Come on, his had a punch that was somehow measured in hundredths of a second and a kick that exceeded YJ's average speed in residential zones. |

So Top 3 protected 2019 1st, 2019 3rd, Rubstov and Hagg for Trouba? - Glak18
That would be my offer. Trouba is good, but he’s not a number 1 or a guy who will put up significant points or run a pp. If Winnipeg expects much more than that, they’re kidding themselves |

More on Trouba:
He’s never exceeded 10 goals or 33 points in any of his five seasons and only scored 3 goals and 24 points last year.
To compare him with Provorov who had 6 and 30 as a rookie and 17 goals and 41 points last year is laughable. Provy plays the same shutdown role as Trouba, puts up more offense and does it all with a weaker supporting cast.
There is no comparison.
