It stems from Botterills quote “we weren’t focused on trades. We were celebrating drafting Dahlin.”

Or, he should have said, "Hey, Toronto, give us your 5th next year for our 1st pick in the 6th this year?" That would have been a fair trade off.

If the NFL had 14 rounds, and they did this in the 12th, it would be a curiosity, which is what this is. It's an odd move, but not a reason to get your blood pressure up. Maybe he wants to trade 2 6ths for a 5th next year?

Ultimately, it won't matter in either draft most likely. Its odd but I don't hate the picks he made, especially Pekar. I wouldn't let it ruin your day is all I am saying, its inconsequential and there may be verbal "future considerations" attached (even though thats usually bs).
