Zadina, "I'm going to fill their nets with pucks". Sweet. Good thing our GM still relies on carrier pigeons. Chayka should get the trade offer some time tomorrow. The dumbass probably sent it to Scottsdale.

You’re so smart. Always providing answers or corrections that another poster provided hours ago just to show us how much you know. You just gotta have it.

Since the draft moved to the two-day format, only one of the 16 players to lead off the second day has made even the slightest impact. (The NHL held one-day drafts in 2006 and 2013.) Florida picked goaltender Jacob Markstrom at No. 31 in 2008, and he finally became a full-time starter with Vancouver this season. He’s 59-79-19 with a .908 save percentage in 167 appearances.

Second-day leadoff men Ilja Nikulin (2000, Atlanta) and Johannes Salmonsson (2004, Pittsburgh) never played in the NHL. Goalies Oscar Dansk (2012, Columbus) and Mikko Koskinen (2009, New York Islanders) have appeared in only four games, as has defenseman David Musil (2011, Edmonton). John Vogl

"Talking to three other teams who are in on Karlsson and each werr told their offers where underwhelming and they should remember that ottawa doesnt have to deal Erik and could have him playout this year like Tavares and Stamkos have done."

Wow if that's true Dorian has lost it. Ottawa doesn't have to trade Karlsson? lol Dude's done there. He took the puck at the last home game. I'm not saying Mickey Mouse poop like what we got for Kane type deals, a meh prospect with some upside and 2 condition heavy picks.

I'm not saying I'd do this, but let's say a team gives them something like their version of Mitts, Nelson and a 1st. That shouldn't be "underwhelming" for a guy you have to trade.

You're assuming they've received anything other than lowball offers.

but you can also say pick 31 led to all of this

the sabres will be leading off the draft with pick 32

stop being so negative

Yeah, I might, MIGHT even go down if they're doing the prospects game week after next at KBC like they did with Eichel and they practically sold out.
- Wetbandit1

It's probably a combination of the fact that the Sabres needed a #1 defenseman badly and there was really no consolation prize worth building a franchise around this year, but I was 100% more excited about this draft from the moment the lottery fell their way than I ever was about the Eichel draft.

Facts are facts and if it averts a bust trend that is positive on top of getting another pick is positive. Going along with the Mickey Mouse Club isn't always positive. Oh by the way, trade Reinhart

Svechnikov is going to be pretty damn good and I would've been quite happy picking 2nd and getting him.

And, in a few hours will have a big Right handed Defenseman in Wilde, who will be able to replace Bogosian on our second pairing within a year. Our defense will finally be looking awesome.

I wouldn't. As nice as he would have been to have, there are many more ways to obtain a top end winger than there is to get a #1 defenseman.

Considering they could have been picking 4th, picking 1st or 2nd was a big win.

Technically the number of ways to acquire either is the same, however the probably is higher of landing a winger through those methods, lol.
I agree with the point of your post though.

There has to be a significant trade if not a buzz kill

I like McLeod, simply because he seems to have what we are allegedly looking to add - speed!
