So what you're saying is that they're going to trade up, stand pat or trade down?
Guess Dreger was right after all. - BlueBallz
it's also possible we trade the pick for an nhl dman
but honestly, i'd be disapointed if dubas is going into the draft thinking: 'i'm not trading the pick, i'm just going to make it.'
based on how the draft shakes out, you keep all your options open and you do what you think is best. |

There must be a limit to how many prospects you can have in the system?
Trade down to get more picks, then later trade away 5 players to get under the 50 man contract limit. Seems like a dog chasing his tail....hire better scouts and take the BPA. - Garnie
Good plan..hard to put into practice. So more chances gives you more likleyhood of hitting on something |

We can add another Senator to the list. #Sens are working with agent Justin Duberman to try and find a potential new home for G Craig Anderson. Nothing imminent. He has two years left at $4.75M and, oddly, has been statistically excellent every other season for last number of yrs

But its fun to watch people pretend they know and care. - Fakepartofme
I went to the Leafs' draft party at RealSports two years ago.
They asked everyone to get there redonkulously early. OK, open bar, free food, I'm not objecting.
So we are having a great time. Leafs select Matthews, RealSports fires blue and white confetti out of a cannon, yahoo!!!!
3 minutes later, I turn to my buddy and say, "Want to go?"
"Yeah, let's get out of here."
Not much point in hanging around and hearing other teams select guys who I have never heard of. |

maybe....meh...we seem to throw them back. Take a chance at the BPA.
But I'm good with whatever way they go....I'll still cheer, even when we suck. |

I think this would be the best approach, picks between 25-50 are like scratch cards, maybe trade it to Montreal for two 2nd round picks... Unless someone falls out of the top 10 and is somehow still available at #25 |

It seems like everyone is trying to help Lou out, first the Capitals are idiots, now the goalie market is being flooded. Hoping some of these other teams get in on the goalies before Lou.

Pretty much most picks after 8-10 are scratch cards |

As much as it pains me to see Lou and Mark Hunter gone, I think Dubas will bring success here. He has won at every level. In the O, he brought a crappy Soo team to respectability even sticking his neck out for Sheldon Keefe in the process. Now he has just won with the Marlies. Good times ahead boys!!! |

He didnt win in the ohl.
How much impact on the marlies did he have other than using picks and leftovers from the leafs?
Time will tell what success The Geek brings to the leafs.
Gotta give him a chance. |

That's right! My bad. The Soo were not very good when he took over and turned them into contenders. They didn't win, but he still turned that team around. |

Fuk loading up on picks..Are we starting a rebuild again. Trade all the picks for D help now not 4yrs down the road .. ..
Sorry for being angry.. - Fruitcakenipple
Nah man. Bad bad idea that will end in a bad situation where bad things happen.
People always go on about how St.Louis, Anaheim and Nashville have this great D core. That's because they drafted them with their picks. They've been in "contender" status for years and yet they carried on drafting players for down the road.
We need to keep drafting. |

If Keefe/Dubas stayed with the Soo I'm betting they would have won the championship within the next couple years ( or already )
Look at Keefe's record with the Jr A team he had before the Soo.... |
