As much as a I want Dobson over Bouchard/Boqvist I will not be angry with the pick. If Bouchard has the willingness to get a skating coach to improve himself there he has a very high ceiling, I just don't like that his floor is a bottom pairing PPQB.

I feel like JB has his heart set on 2 defensemen. If neither are there he is taking a forward. He really has no choice IMO if those 2 D are not there.

Dobson looks like the floor of second pairing and ceiling of top pairing. Bouchard has floor of bottom pairing and ceiling of top pairing. Bouchard has a higher ceiling than Dobson, but Dobson seems more likely to reach his ceiling. Unless his skating improves Bouchard will never be worth a 7oa pick. But again it is an area that can be improved if a player puts the effort into improving it, just look at Bo. People thought he would be a 3c or at best a 2c and now he looks like a 2c that can be a 1c.

I'll take the offensive potential of Bouchard, Hughes or Boqvist over Dobson's safer floor everyday.

I love how the Sabers paid a high price for Lehner and after a few seasons just walk away from him with no back-up plan.

I think Guddy skates much better but honestly can't say I've watched enough of gryba.
