I think there are some, yes, that want to blow it up, but most just want a good hockey trade. I mean, we DID just finish dead last again with this sorry bunch. You have to trade one of the core pieces to facilitate change, and opinions vary on which core piece to move. I'm all for trading anyone if it makes our team better.

I don’t think that’s true necessarily
Don’t forget,
We are ADDING 2 “core pieces” in Dahlin & Mittelstadt

Everyone who says we are coming back with the “same roster” is just not being accurate

Again, if the trade makes sense and makes our hockey team better, then so be it. I couldn't care less about who gets us in the win column, just that we get there.

The way you put it makes it sounds like we're just throwing darts against the wall to change our fortune. The biggest problem was the roster (particularly D) wasn't good enough. It will be worlds better.

I’m all about a Cheese & Pepp pizza
But it is nice to cut all that richness with a little acid from green olives or banana peppers, cherry peppers, etc

I’ll usually just get the c&p
And then add topping myself when reheating leftover slices

I don’t see the NYR chasing the big names (Tavares, Panarin, Kovalchuk, Karlsson). Looking for younger assets and plan on staying course.

So we are getting Dahlin and now people want ROR, Risto, Reinhart and McCabe gone ? and we wonder why we keep drafting 1st or 2nd.

This. It’s mind boggling

I think you may be dramatizing this one a bit.

I think the only player most people want gone is ROR, and that's because he can be used to improve the team.

For sure
I’m just not an advocate of the theory that we “have to trade a core piece”

Dahlin, Mittelstadt & some decent play from the goalies will go a long way
And we are starting to integrate more speed into the lineup with guys like Guhle, Bailey & Baptiste, among others

Now those guys might not blow up,
but adding guys that can play the system Botts & Housley wants will also help...
even if it’s in a secondary role

Can’t remake this team in their image overnight

We are moving in the right direction imo

Throwing out fan-trade scenarios is not the same thing as demanding all the players listed must be traded.

It's mind bottling that that impression is being given.

Who is throwing darts? Botts? Not in the least.

If you meant, us, the fans, then yeah, we are.

Our GMs said we will probably need to trade a core piece. This is how the discussion on RoR Risto and Reinhart started.

Chia wants Risto for #10? If I’m Botterill, I tell Chiarelli the deal is Ristolainen and #32 for pick #10 and forward prospect Kailer Yamamoto, who was Mittelstadt’s linemate at WJC in Buffalo

I have to side with your best buddy and ask you the question then. How does this team get better without shaking up the players that, or are supposed to, make the most impact?

If that’s the case,
I feel bad for Lundqvist

If the Rangers could get Tavares,
they’re Cup Contenders again with another couple moves

Have they had a “#1” Center since Messier?

Every account, eyewitness, etc has this dressing room in shambles. Yeah, you pretty much have to trade a core piece.

That doesn't mean you don't get a core piece back in a trade.

Are we not in this to win a championship? Why are we afraid of change, especially with this group?

Hope Yamamoto can switch to RHD, cuz your not drafting a RHD with #10 that will be ready in the next 2 years

I guess the way I always saw it was, Risto traded for winger +. While O'Reilly would be traded for a D +.

So thats the hope that both trades are needed.

I would rather keep Risto at this point. Would have to be a steal of a deal to consider. Something like 2 or 3 overall. Or Taylor Hall. haha.
