Interesting...
u think it’s about Sam then?

I’d trade him for #7 +
But i really like Wahlstrom
I can see why some wouldn’t like that though

- jdfitz77

I heard a guy on the radio from the NW saying if the Nucks move the pick it's for young players

again spitballing from what I was told today

Nucks called, not for RoR

blues and flyers made offers for RoR

pretty sure things will get real interesting tomorrow now that JT is going to sign with islanders

Welp, we disagree again
Not surprised
I have legit reasons why i like Wahlstrom better
He has a better shot
Higher goal scoring ceiling
And better stats

It’s not like I’m saying something crazy

- jdfitz77

He has a good shot, no question. Nothing crazy about liking him. Thinking Tkachuck is rated 5+ slots ahead of him because of his last name is crazy though.

U can probably take the guys ranked 4-10, and shake them up in any order & it’s completely reasonable
They’re all extremely close

And there are absolutely teams & scouts who take family pedigree into account when ranking players
Justifiably imo too

I personally like Wahlstrom better,
for legitimate reasons
He’s a year younger, with MUCH better stats, and a higher ceiling as a scorer
I don’t think I’m saying something super mind blowing

A scout on Tkachuk...

Combines his long stride with very good stick-handling prowess and long reach. He is able to make time for linemates with his possessions. Extremely creative and shows finesse in his set ups, but more importantly his demeanor is such that he takes the responsibility of winning on his shoulders. He has a high upside, not a limited ceiling that some suggest. Can dominate down low and between the dots. Retrieves pucks by way of physical checks and honest wall work. There are no warts in his game, and he has shown in college games that he can play and dominate against older more developed young men. There is no denying by any scout that the offensive skills are there, and will grow. No growth is necessary as a team guy and possible future NHL captain. When he is promoted to the NHL, he will be a plug and play stand alone player who can compete and win, no matter where/who he plays with. He is a player who never quits and wills his team to win through his actions. And boy, does he have some edge!

Ok, but that’s not EVERYONE’S opinion
Wahlstrom had almost DOUBLE the scoring of Tkachuk on the U18 team
So while Tkachuk may have the offensive skills, he hasn’t actually had a big scoring season the last 2 years

Again, not saying he sucks or anything
Just that i like Wahlstrom’s potential as a scorer more,
Bc he’s already shown it
And scouts really talk glowingly about the kid’s shot

If we got pick 10 from EDM and got Tkachuk, i wouldn’t at all be upset about it

Maybe.

I honestly don't think who we had back there would've made a damn bit of difference.

and if we pick 10th and take Wahlstrom, I'm fine with that too

I get why you're comparing stats as though they are in a different draft class, I just find it extremely biased

It’s biased?
Tkachuk is a year ahead of Wahlstrom bc of their bdays

It would be one thing if their stats were close,
but they aren’t

Or if Tkachuk excelled this year in college,
but he didn’t

Fact is...
even though there’s some scouts who think he has high end offensive ability,
He hasn’t had a big offensive season yet
Maybe he will...

But Wahlstrom just killed it
And since we’ve seen that he can actually do it...
that’s why i give him the edge

They're in the same draft class because of their birthdays. You're inventing your own cut-off to exaggerate in favor of the guy you like. That's bias.

No I’m not
Tkachuk is a year ahead of Wahlstrom (even though they’re in the same draft class)

Idk how u can even say that’s not true
Brady was in college this year...
was Wahlstrom?

And like i said...
one guy is coming off an amazing offensive season
The other, a disappointing one

You’re discounting that without explanation

Also... we’ve been so locked in on an ROR trade that I think I’ve pushed 23 too far out of mind. Reinhart a legit candidate to move and maybe the more likely of the two this weekend.

Has he ever claimed to though?
I know he says some stuff about the behind the scenes,
but it’s not like he’s ever said he get info on possible player movement like Homie or 89

I don’t think Gerbe has inside info really
But i do believe he has access (through his dad obviously) to be behind the scenes

Pretty sure that’s all he ever really claimed
At least that I’ve seen

What if this happened:

Ror and McCabe for #3oa and pach
#3oa to clb for panarin
Sign a stopgap center (reichel) and a stopgap goalie (bernier/Hudson).

I say this is a playoff team
