I see Whalstrom as this years Mittelstadt. And actually I think he may be a better/ more impressive prospect at this stage.
- MCGUIZZY

He scored at a rate just above next year’s #1 pick (Jack Hughes)
They played on the same team, so it’s a fair comparison
and even though a Wahlstrom is a year older, it’s still impressive what he did

He’s got a wicked shot, and plays tough near the net as well
Frankly,
The only reason Tkachuk is rated ahead of him is bc of his name
I’d take Wahlstrom easily over him

I have never been that high on Tkachuk. I just think there are alot of parallels between Whalstrom and Mittestadt. Both in skill and potential draft position. I think he could be a realistic target at 5-7 if we can figure out a deal that involves ROR

Chia wants Risto for #10? If I’m Botterill, I tell Chiarelli the deal is Ristolainen and #32 for pick #10 and forward prospect Kailer Yamamoto, who was Mittelstadt’s linemate at WJC in Buffalo

garth...

- Stripes77

10 oa, calm down there. Remember Alexander daube? Picks don’t always pan out so why give up a 2 nd pairing d for a crap shoot?

do you consider Zadina parts?
- Shadman306

I consider Zadina and all other prospect as unproven at the nhl level.

Yeah,
I’ve been assuming that pick 3 would be a long shot
So I’ve actually been hoping for pick 7 from VAN, and we’d take Wahlstrom
Idk if he’d play right away like Zadina,
but he does have the size to possibly do so
I’m more than ok waiting a year or even 2 for him though
He could go to college, or the AHL even

ROR for Patch, straight up, is (frank)ing stupid.

ROR for a pair of 2nd rounders is (frank)ing stupid.

ROR for Skinner, straight up, is less (frank)ing stupid. If it's Skinner + with the assurance of a reasonable LT contract, then it's a smart move, IMO.

No on skinner, ever! He’s on hit away from retirement.

Of course no one is a sure thing,
but I’d be extremely happy with a pick that results in either Zadina or Wahlstrom as the main piece we’d get for O’Reilly
Beyond those 2 forwards,
I get much more nervous as to how good the next 5 wingers will/won’t be

Can people stop this. Faceoff % is nearly a pointless stat.

95% of faceoffs don't mean a damn thing.

Are those the actual pics Gerbe has posted?
If so... touché
I’ll eat my words a bit there

I did check on one of the menu pics he posted, and my buddy who is one of the Chefs did confirm the pic he posted was in fact the menu from that day

No, they're not, they're pictures of backstage areas.

I believe he took the pics. But the pics themselves mean nothing other than that he took them. They do not mean he has a gold plated source.

Has he ever claimed to though?
I know he says some stuff about the behind the scenes,
but it’s not like he’s ever said he get info on possible player movement like Homie or 89

I don’t think Gerbe has inside info really
But i do believe he has access (through his dad obviously) to be behind the scenes

Pretty sure that’s all he ever really claimed
At least that I’ve seen

Sure,
but i suppose it’s fair to have more concern over anyone with concussion history

If you don't think there's a player in the league without a concussion history you're crazy.

The last time Skinner had a head injury was years ago at this point.

I think there are reasons to not want him that are more than just "injury!".

Yes

Brady Tkachuk as a member of the US under18 team LAST YEAR
25g-29a-54pts

*He’s a year ahead

Wahlstrom this year for U18 team
48g-46a-94pts

Wahlstrom has a better shot, and higher ceiling as a scorer
Plus he plays a physical game like Tkachuk as well

Also, while Tkachuk did look good at the WorldJrs, he didn’t excel in college by any means as was expected
But he does have the pedigree with his Family, and that definitely counts for something

I’m not saying Tkachuk is some scrub,
just that his name adds value
And that Wahlstrom really is that good

Feel free to let me know why u think Tkachuk is better if that’s what u think

There’s a reason some ppl having him dropping in the mocks though,
or think that he can drop tomorrow
Most don’t believe he has a high ceiling as far as goal scoring goes, or they at least question it a bit
