the worst part is I also have an 11 year old beagle, he does a sneak attack and eats whenever he sees food
- homiedclown

My first dog was a beagle mix. For like 7 years he just bided his time, never took any food off the table, and then one new year's eve we had steak and lobster and I got up for 15 seconds to get a napkin or something and the wiener took my whole steak and ate it in like 10 seconds.

Do you really think Pu was close to making it? I have my doubts. Keeping him in camp, when other juniors were returned was a nice vote of confidence. Maybe they considered giving him a couple games, but it's hard to imagine they really considered keeping him up for the full season. I think he's going to start in Rochester. It's probably the right move for him, and he's waiver exempt.
- Lunaion

Junior players are always hopeful of appearing in a preseason game. More often than not, they skate around during practice and watch the professionals play in the exhibitions.

Cliff Pu is an exception.

An impressive showing in the Sabres' Prospects Challenge earned him another chance to put on a Buffalo jersey. He played in the preseason opener Monday night when Carolina visited KeyBank Center.

"It's a huge honor to be able to get in an exhibition game," the 19-year-old said. "It's an exciting day for me."

Pu had a goal and three assists during the Sabres' rookie tournament while centering the top line. He faced the Hurricanes as the right winger for center Evan Rodrigues and left wing Seth Griffith.

He earned an assist on the opening goal, feeding Rodrigues for a two-on-one that Griffith finished.

"Over the last few weeks I've had a really good experience with the new staff, and it's been all positive so far," Pu said.

"Clifford chose the first option where he earned a game," Housley said. "He's a terrific player, really smart. He's got a little edge to his game. He goes to the net hard. Just with the speed of the game, he's just got to maintain his speed and his decisions up ice, but I really liked what I saw in Prospects Challenge."

That's from the BN last fall. He came pretty close

Still? I thought something new and exciting would of started. Getting a little bored reading how the Leafs are the team to beat in the NHL.

With all the rumors going around right now about him,
kinda hard not to talk about it

Eks latest rumor blog mentions nothing about the Sabres and Canadiens

I think we really have a good chance of something going down

Trade or waive those two to get faster. O'Regan is 23 or 24 so he's ready to go. Pu almost made the team last year, so I think he has a decent chance to make it.

Girgs isn’t slow

Pu, or O’Regan or whoever would probably have to look really good in camp to earn a spot
Certainly possible
But again,
I said that’s our lineup as of right NOW

That's just how I would build it given the players in the organization at my disposal. I have no use for Girgensons, and less for larsson. I'd trade or waive them and use O'Regan and Bailey in their places. I'm sure they'd be able to get more than the 15 points Girgs mustered playing with Eichel

That’s bold
I did say earlier today, that if we did get pick 3 from MTL...
that I’d consider trading down & taking Wahlstrom, plus getting the additional pick &/or prospect
(Wahlstrom > Tkachuk imo)

There’s some potential goal scoring wingers in the mid-teens or later as well
Denisenko, Bokk, Farabee & Kravtsov

So if we end up trading with Philly for 1 of their 1sts +,
I’d be targeting someone in that group

I see Whalstrom as this years Mittelstadt. And actually I think he may be a better/ more impressive prospect at this stage.

Good news for a O'Reilly trade. When Trotz signed, it was a matter of time.
