Levin is a skilled stickhandler with good hands but who is considered solely a late-round candidate due to question marks over his skating/pacing, hockey sense, defensive play and competitiveness.

there were certainly hints of a trade based on how they handled him in the year or so leading up to it - YuenglingJagr
I wonder if they trade him if they didnt move up in the lottery. Just fun to speculate.

At least we can say our GM didn't trade a Hart trophy winner for an ok defenseman. |

Still amazed at which how little the flyers gave up to pick 4th and got Pickanen. Rusty was an ok player but nothing special and two seconds meh. - bird_dog_pa
6 goals in 7 games against the Flyers in the ECF in 04 though.... |

More unlikely. They were banking on Patrick going straight to the NHL last season. |

''The league has never been healthier,'' Bettman said in a ballroom at the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa. ''The game has never been healthier. Our franchises have never been healthier. Our fan base has never been better.''
maybe so but the ticket prices are still too high for the average person. |

anyone I am with knows there are three blackout times for me. Trade deadline, free agency and the draft. - nastyflyergirl
you only blackout three times a year -- thats pretty good. I blackout 3 times a week |

I tend to agree. I hope going forward this is the end of taking on bad contracts for future assets. I cant judge the Schenn trade as successful or not, but the Blues had complete faith he could play center, which was an interesting twist. |

The precise timing of the trade was surprising, but we didn't call him Trayden Schenn for nothing. |

Well, he is very good passer and can finish, too. Some team will take a late-round chance that he is a late-bloomer in the other aspects of his game. The biggest issue with his skating is that he only started ice skating at about 11 or 12. He is from Tel Aviv, and the only suitable rink in Israel is in Metulla (right along the Israel-Lebanon border). I'd love to see David develop. Many of his issues are simply related to that same late start in ice hockey. He's had to play catch-up. |

Tuned into that NHL awards "show" last night for a bit. Man, I have seen better production values at a high school show. Not the main reason obviously but no wonder the NHL is still 4 out of the 4 major leagues here in the US. A magician doing a card trick to announce the winner of the Selke?!?!?!? GTFOH!!!! |

As well as keeping Schenn, if they didn't get Patrick, maybe Giroux stays at center and they start out 17-18 like this:
Schenn-Giroux-Simmonds
Konecny-Couturier-Voracek
Weal-Filppula-Weise
Leier-Laughton-Raffl |

Nope. But a minutes-eating RH defenseman has value, too. Larsson isn't garbage.

I have watched him in Edmonton for the last 2 years Bill and he is pretty average tbh. After Hall winning the Hart last night that trade looks even more lopsided now. There just had to be better options for Edmonton. |
