Don't get carried away MJL, he was just kidding. You are not the sharpest knife in the drawer, lol Stay on your Flyers page where you are equally despised.

If you actually knew anything about me and what I think , you would know that I don't want the Flyers to trade Simmonds. I want them to re-sign him. Simmonds if he can get healthy will be right back to being one of the top power forwards in the NHL. You completely misread the intent of my post and your knowledge of what I think or want is as poor as your overall knowledge of the game of hockey.

You're just making a fool of yourself with this continued gripe that you have.

- MJL

You are not even close to my level MJL, however I will never stop voicing my opinion on some of your idiotic posts. Anyone that understands hockey is still shaking their heads over trading Schenn for a #29 first round pick and then taking on Lehtera for the second first round pick. Schenn a 70 point first line center and you think you won the deal, get a life and stay out of the black and orange koolaid.

You're right, I'm not on your level. I will not lower myself like that. Again, you have no idea what I think and you can continue all you want to attribute statements to me. Every post you make further degrades your already deeply damaged credibility. I'll be on the Flyers thread if you want to talk further.

Just 40 years you tool, I certainly do not miss you and your little army of band wagon followers. For the record many of your Flyers posters on your site have private messaged me with support. They can not be part of your little game, for all I know you have six accounts and are the stacking it on. You make the Flyer site unbearable for me despite Bill Meltzer being one of the finest bloggers on HB. I only read and normally do not waste posting anything, too many tire fires posting.

Thanks for the warning, I will stay clear. I traded most of my Flyers and are now heavily invested in the Bruins and Penguins. What was your name again, oh hiding behind initials, grow a pair because I am proud of my name, unlike you. You are a computer tough guy MJL still living in your mothers basement and probably a 40 year old virgin, lol

Totally agree MJL has to go. I am staying to cheer on my Bruins. My opinion of Simmonds is that he is gotten way too slow and is only 70% the player he has been in years past. I just do not want him in Boston because is not going to help at all and in fact maybe hinder some of the young kid's development. Go Bruins!

Great idea but I will not be going on the Flyers site commenting anymore. I just want that guy out of the Bruin site and he will probably get be jail time again. The Rick Nash experiment was a failure big time, another guy on the full decline. Spooner will thrive in New York and they got a good d prospect and first rounder to spend. When will they ever learn? Looking forward to Bruins hockey in the fall, love the top six and all the great young talent.

Yes, but he'd compliment 46 and probs score 30+.
What's it worth?
I'm ok without him.......unless it's for 42.

The fact remains that despite being injured with a number of injuries, he still produced decent numbers. Simmonds game was never a speed game. A healthy Wayne Simmonds would help any team. Not only is he a proven goal scorer, he is also a great teammate who protects his teammates and is a strong leader in the locker room. Combine the intangibles with the proven scoring ability and he would be strong add to any team. I hope he remains a Flyer.

yeah, but I had heard they owned a 2 year option for him for similar $$, and being a stanley cup winner, he wanted more. Not the first time i was wrong.
- 77emac77

The story I heard is that he had a 2 year extension that kicked in if they won the Cup, but it was only at a $300k raise... so he opted out of the extension. And I think someone on here pointed out earlier he went from making like $1.5m with the Caps to $4m with the Islanders.

What you do not get is that he has had a rough life and all his battles have caught up with him. He is in decline without a doubt and wanting a long term contract he would just be another Backes, Lucic, Eriksson and so on. Simmonds gave his heart and soul to the Flyers but I am very concerned about a decline with my Bruins. I hope he stays in Philly since you seem to love him so much and good luck to him.

He's 29, not 50!

I thoroughly enjoy when you tell me I don't get something. A player can be in decline, and still remain a very good player. I love how all of a sudden their your Bruins. After all this time of being a Flyers fan. There is always the risk of signing an older player to a long term deal but I believe that Simmonds is going to bounce back strong and remain a strong player for a number of years.

I agree with you for the most part outside of spooner. I know he started hot but he tailed off a bit of memory serves me correctly. I expect him to continue to be that middling fringe top 6 forward who we really didn’t have room for. Giving up the 1st and Lindgren hurt big time though especially with what other scorer rentals got in return at the deadline.

It’s all spilt milk though. Time to move on.

Thoughts on Kovy?

If Sweeney didn't make that bonehead trade for Rick Nash, we could of still had our first round pick, and still had Spooner to trade for another asset. I like Spooner as a middle 6/PP specialist, but I agree there's just not a spot for him on this team... but man, Rick Nash was a dumb person to waste that many assets on.

Pass on Kovy... Too many young guys ready for spots. I'd rather see them out there than a 35 year old mystery man that hasn't played in the NHL in years. Let someone else spend the money.
