This high a pick, say at #6 or #8, Bowmanneeds to decide how much the player he liked best would impact the team vs the next player he would take. Really like moving up be sure what we give up is long term only going to be a sacrifice if it is the #27. If Bowman trades down, then he clearly is worried aout the team record next season more than taking advantage of this earlyrafy early draft pick. Should this occur, I hope season ticket holders show disgust by not renewing. Where is the real hope?

I really don’t like the idea of moving to #6 for #8 & #27. We wouldn’t have another pick until #69 that’s not acceptable in this draft.

I think that died off a bit. But only talks one phone call for things to happy quickly.

Would love for Bowman to go tot the podium tonight and drop some Flair lines, but modified a bit for the Hawks.

I'm a Murphy fan. Think it's a big mistake to move him.

No kidding. Murphy is totally being mishandled by Q. Dont like that move at all. If Murphy goes with the Hossa contract?

if hawks are looking for a top 4 d i would look at something like trouba and lowry for AA, duclair, and #27.

seems to be the new norm. daley mishandled, traded and wins cup. Kempny mishandled, traded and wins cup. if murphy goes, that is your stanley cup champ and they should pay through the nose for that trend haha

Does everybody in this world now have to be a "victim"??

How did Murphy get screwed? Because he averaged 2-3min a night less than he was getting in AZ?

He played the same amount of games, produced the same amount of points, while getting a bit less ice time and learning to play a new system as well as getting time on his off side - 2 new things for him

Hughes local kid to Detroit. I am guessing they might have passed on him if some others were still available. In yet one more scenario maybe Detroit, needing more prospects, trade #6 for #8 if we give them a prospect or the #27.
- jhawk59

Hughes isn't really a local kid - he just goes to college there. Born in Florida and lived in Boston for a little bit, but Hughes was raised since he was like 10/11 in Toronto, considers that his hometown, and the Leafs are his favorite team. Nylander lived with his family when he was with the Marlies.

That's not enough to get Trouba, much less Trouba+Lowry. Why would the Jets want Anisimov or Duclair, either?

Or Dobson. Seems like Boqvist and Bouchard are locks to be available at 8. That is the worst case scenario, if it unfolds this way, I would consider other options to be honest.
- stonefire

Other options than Hughes, Dobson, or Bouchard? I'd be fine with Hughes, love it in fact and like Dobson very much.

Thing about moving up inside 9 is there isn't that much perceived daylight between those players. Of course we don't know how all 31 clubs have players valued but it seems after 1 and 2 and inside 9 it's not worth say a 27th to move 2 spots.

They don't need him though - they have a pretty packed forward prospect pool. The only taker Arizona had was for Panik so people are overestimating Duclair's value imo.
