Ya, let the frigging canadian boys be their savior ... let's get the American over to save an American franchise!

He grew up a Yotes fan...you have to the following has crossed his mind:

"I have a great skill set...I get to go home...and I get to help revive my favorite hockey team........sooo why in the hell would I stay in Tronna and get lambasted ever time I don't score 5 goals a game."

And Arizona can offer him more than Connor McDavid

The leafs won't match that

Probably the same reason Eichel gets jacked up to play in Toronto and you can just see the envy in his eyes.

Wager, next season Toronto makes playoffs while Buffalo does not.
- Blazed

Everyone here knows we won't be close to the playoffs

So you win

If Toronto decides to stand pat and do nothing it will be a modest regression. They'd still be a playoff team and it would be Marlies promoted in place of the departed UFA's.

If they are still a playoff team will locking up three dynamic offensive talents long term off ELC's I'd consider that a success.

If they don't replace Bozak, Nylander is ready for Bozak's secondary offense role.

- Blazed

Yes but the team as is couldn’t make it past the first round. Now you have to make up for the modest regression and make up the ground to play with the Tampa’s, Pittsburgh’s, and Washington’s of the East. Boston will still field a good team and Florida and Buffalo will improve from last season. The Atlantic was a joke this year you guys had 3rd place sealed in November.

When he says North America it's a not so subtle hint that it's not in Buffalo.
- Lunaion

Fair
It’s entirely possible his agent asked us to move him
The Caps might be a good destination with their potential need for defensemen & the Russians they have on the team

I get the feeling he had trouble adjusting to life outside of hockey here & we didn’t really do much to help him
*that’s just conjecture though- don’t really have anything to back it up

Well I doubt they do absolutely nothing in the off-season. There is no pressure to make a bad move. Even if they stand totally pat they have a playoff team, and they continue to draft and develop a solid feeder system.

It's not like they were swept ala the Kings or Ducks, game 7 against a 112 point team.

Having Gibson means Anderson sucks? Andersen >> Lehner
- Blazed

What has Gibson accomplished ? Gibson and Andersen are average-above average starters in the league. Lehner is trash and won’t even be on the team next season.

So Paul Hamilton said today that the 2014 pick was between Reinhart and Draisaitl. Not Bennett

If Buffalo had a Gibson or Andersen they'd be a lot closer to a playoff team than they are today.

Closer yes, not a lot though.
Sabes issues are lack of scoring, and their D was horrible moving the puck out quickly....and dreadfully slow.
It will take another couple years of smart maneuvering by Botts, next year will be a step forward, the real year for making a bigger stride will be 2019

Oh who the hell cares Hamilton....that poop was 4 (frank)ing years ago.

EDIT: OHHH NOOOO WE SHOULD HAVE PICKED DRAISAITAL!!!!!!! We didn't. We drafted Reinhart who was roundly regarded as the safer pick of the two. He's not been spectacular but he's progressing.

For the love of (frank)in christ can no one in Sabreland look forward instead of crying about the past?

The Bruins are going to heavily regress this season. Their top line and a 40 year old Chara beat the leafs. Their lack of depth got exposed in 5 games against Tampa.

Better/Worse. It changes a lot of things and it probably doesn't end with Dahlin. GMTM might still be here and Kane + Lehner might have long term deals.
