They could be historically bad
Like, not even winning 20 games bad

- jdfitz77

I said that last year about Vegas ...

I will never say that again

not sure that is a huge step

if nylander gets 20 goals and 20 assists for the sabres this year, he is a bust

- homiedclown

Nylander is probably going to score 15 next year

If hes with Casey all year 25

I didn’t think they’d be that bad
But i did see them losing a lot of close games

I think Vegas is gonna try to get Karlsson

Bryan Little + Nikolaj Ehlers for RoR and Skunk? Looks like what we would need on paper. 2nd line center to shelter Mitts, 1st line LW for ECHL. Maybe get a little something extra? Just read it on HF boards. What do you guys think.

Still a bit of a long shot to make the team imo

If he & Olofsson end up working out though...
we could have our problems on the Wings pretty much erased

pommer and okposo don't work in the system either

it's a mess when your best winger, skunk, is slow

Interesting
I’d want more though
Reinhart & Ehlers are close to equal
O’Reilly heavily outweighs Little imo

Idk what they're waiting for on dumping Hoffman. Some GM somewhere must have an offer in. If they want to re-sign Karlsson, Hoffman has to disappear. Even then, do they really want to pony up the kind of cash needed to keep him? Does he want to be there at all?

Those are their two leading scorers. If that lottery card comes up Ottawa next year, and Hughes is in Colorado, that could kill a franchise

True
Pommer is gonna after this year though
And if Okposo can have a bounceback season & stay healthy, then he’d be tradable

Probably gonna take a few years to get the personnel they want

No way. Ehlers had a rough playoff but is absolutely the better player

Maybe no one wants Hoffman now they now it be a risk bringing that baggage in the locker room

I think it's worse than that. 5 of their top 6 forwards are slow.

In terms of trade value...
u think they’re far off?

I’d give the edge to Ehlers, for sure
Just didn’t think it would be a huge gap

I did a smidge of research a while back, but there is reason to believe that our forward group is actually a reason our defense scores so little, which is opposite of the consensus.

Not saying our defense is good, but both have negatively effected the other

Not huge, but IMO significant.

Ehlers was the one top 6 guy left off of there great PP1 with Schiefele and Laine.

If he was on that unit he would have had 65-75 points last two years instead of 60.

He scores 20+ at EV too last two years.

The Sabres paid for his housing for him and his family in California. But yes buy him out to save $235K it makes zero sense from a financial standpoint as well as the human side. Why drag it out longer?

He’s getting $175,000 every two weeks from the Sabres organization as it is.

He hasn’t said one bad thing about the Sabres to the media and from everything my employee has said to me he hasn’t said anything bad about the Sabres to any of the boys in Ontario. Which is funny since that’s where Petersen is playing.

- Stripes77

I'm way behind... but are you fkn kidding me? The Sabres paid for his housing??

What in the absolute FK? How does that even happen? Did they offer him a lifetime of free BJs too?

This just makes me angry.. probably more than it should... but FFS

Seems like it would be hard to prove, but I wouldn't doubt it. No one on this team knows how to pass a (frank)ing puck. Transition game is horrid. No one can hold onto the puck either. There's too many variables as to why we suck Richard.

I would swap Ehlers for Reinhart 8 days a week, so ROR for Little? eh..maybe needs some pick balancing.

I'd support that. There was no area this team was strong in last year, which is insane. The forwards were bad offensively and defensively. The D was bad offensively and defensively. The special teams were bad. The goaltending was bad.
