Correct. Most said the addition of Patrick and Lindblom would help as well as a bounce back from G and growth from TK. This was achieved even without Lindblom playing with us most the year. Having said this, it was predominantly SuperSchennBros who claimed it wouldn’t be replaced with a few randoms I can’t recall. Wild guess is also MJL. - arichardson22
It wasn't replaced. Not even close.

Schenn: 70 points
Patrick: 30 points
TK: 47 points
could even argue that Giroux's huge bouceback season contributed to replacing Schenn's offense |

nice opinion .
B Schenn had 55 Points last season; 70 this year.
Giroux: 58 points to 102 = 44 Points
Voracek: 61 points to 85 = 24 points
Couts: 34 points to 76 = 42 points
TK: 28 points to 47 = 19 points
Simmonds:54 points to 46 = -8 points
Patrick = 30 points
=
Not only did the these Flyers replace Schenn's production from 2017, they almost tripled his 55 points collectively AND collectively outproduced his 70 points this year.
PS I didn't even include Ghost or Provy

Konecny was on the team the previous season, so he wasn't a new addition. You're discounting what Schenn would've produced this past season if he had remained with the team.

There seems to be a lack of common sense here. Who was the player that replaced Schenn on the Wing with the trade?

We have a pretty good basis for Schenn's track record in scoring as a Flyer. |

No no. Can't wiggle yourself out of this one. the question before the season was can the Flyers' OFFENSE make up or replace Schenn's production. It was never what ONE player can replace Schenn. Shove that common sense |

So then we can further speculate Schenn wouldn't have passed 60 points being on the wing (and giroux centering him) with the flyers again instead of playing Center for StL. |

This cracks me up! You called me out now you're going to whine!
Use two players! LOL. Bottom line is that is Schenn was not traded he would've increased the Flyers scoring production this past season as a proven 20+ goal, 50 point range player. Other forwards such as Weal, and later Lindblom did not make up that difference. |

Sure they do! LOL They wouldn't have had the same improvement if Schenn was still on the team? Schenn remaining with the team wouldn't have boosted their offensive output over Jordan Weal?
got it!

The only one whining is you trying to weasel out of being flat-out wrong. Funny i made no mention of Weal or Lindblom because all of the other players i Listed outproduced Schenn easily without their contributions. |

No, the math does not check out. The Flyers would've been a more productive offensive team with a proven 20+ goal 50 point player in Schenn on the Wing in place of other players such as Raffl, Weal, Lindblom or any other combination that was used due to the trade of Schenn. The trade weakened the Flyers offensively. It was a short term loss for hopefully long term gain.

I like Simmonds, like what he can bring but I really can’t remember the last time I thought of him being an intimidating presence.
In terms of physicality, I don’t think that would be the biggest factor in losing him. |
