The way it's written, it's certainly open to interpretation. "Your own player", could mean the player you currently own the rights to. Or it could mean, a player who played at least 1 game for your team. Or a player the team drafted. It's not very specific as it was written there. - Unholy_Goalie
And the good cap wranglers and CBA bandits exploit that poop all the time. Lou was one of those, I think Gilman will be too. |

If the Dudley story is true about him trying to draft Ovechkin in every round the year before his draft because of the leap years, anything is possible unless it's clearly written somewhere in the CBA. |

Disgusting. Should be a bannable offense. - Unholy_Goalie
Honestly, I usually use Primo Spaghetti sauce. It's pretty basic, but tasty once you throw in some of your own spices into it. I usually add a whole wack of basil, oregano, and chili powder or cayenne pepper. |

It's written by lawyers.
'Your own player' is someone under contract. |

Trade Nylander for help on D. Keep developing your own guys too. It wouldn't be a real problem. The hard part is signing Tavares and that's at a near 0% chance of happening. - Unholy_Goalie
Would you want Nylander say @ 6.6mil or Trouba at the same cost? |

The rules gotta be more clearly written somewhere, we just can't seem to find it or something. |

A player's rights could still be considered a player under contract. Depends on which lawyers, arbitrators, judges or GMs you talk to. Unless it's specifically written down in detail, the sentence you provided is vague, relatively speaking. |

Dude. Primo is the Nylander trade proposal of canned sauces, no matter how you amend it, it's still a bad idea. At least get some Classico.

I gotta agree with UG though.
This still leaves too much open to interpretation. If you trade for the rights to someone, wouldn't that make them "your own player"? It doesn't say anywhere that they needed to play games for your team or start the season with you, or be traded to you by the TDL or anything, so getting the negotiating rights would seem to count unless it's written more specifically somewhere else. |

JFJ tried to do the something similar with Tavares by signing before he was drafted or something like that. |

Not necessarily Trouba but you'd want somebody who fits that profile. 25 and under, RHD, top pairing, two-way defender etc.
And Nylander alone might not get it done but if you have Tavares to replace Nylander, it makes perfect sense to move him plus more to get that all important young #1 RHD.
Maybe even go younger and look at guys like Evan Bouchard. That prototype of guy is what the Leafs definitely need on D. |

Tried to sign him to the Marlies with a PTO kind of like how Matthews went to play in Switzerland before he was drafted. |

But where though. That's the question. I haven't seen anybody cite that line specifically and today's the first I've ever heard of the trade deadline having anything to do with signing an 8 year deal. You'd think on TDL day, one of the experts would have said "If any team wants to sign Tavares to an 8 year deal, they need to acquire him today or else they can't". Because I didn't hear anybody say that, did you? |

OK then. I couldn't find it myself, but figured it had to be spelled out somewhere more specifically than just, "your own player". |

A lot of SO wins that bumped up that point total and a fairly weak division along with a lot of offensive power that masked a lot of defensive issues that got exposed in the playoffs. Still a lot of room for improvement on D. |

P.S. I actually don't like most desserts or sweets. I'd rather eat a piece of fruit instead of a doughnut, some chips instead of pie. Shrug. I know, I'm weird. I do like ice cream though. |

Jesus H b'y.
Go to No Frills. Buy a can of Unico San Marzano tomatoes.
Heat up some olive oil, toss in a clove of garlic, cook it until you can smell the garlic. Remove the garlic.
Add in some chili flakes (pinch), squash in your tomatoes by hand, add a bit of water to the can to slosh around and get it all out, add that to your garlic and chili flake infused oil, add salt and pepper, cook for 20 minutes on a medium-low simmer.
Cook some good durum semolina (i.e. made in Italy) spaghetti, el dente (bit of bite to the noodle still), toss them in the sauce, cook for a couple of minutes, add torn fresh basil leaves, toss, grate some Parmesan Reggiano on top... |
