The best case is that hey don't trade Karlsson, but it's looking more likely that that is what will occur.


Vegas's pick next year would be pretty sweet if it could be wrangled from them. Please do not include Ryan in the deal. I've seen a few people argue they could be in for a crash next year. But we all heard the same thing this year, so who knows.

Weird talk on Hoffman though, I wonder what it's coming from.

If we trade Karlsson and Ryan to Vegas, their first round pick could very well be in the 26-30 range again, so I hope Cody glass is reaaaaaaal good, or we could probably do better. Gotta give Chiarelli a chance to top himself too, that should always be the first call

Hard to get excited about trade prospects when other priorities are at the root of every consideration.

i believe Melnyk sells. Alfredsen takes over as President of hockey operations and Karlsson resigns. As i have said before I am not opposed to dealing Karlsson for the right offer...but, i do not think that a new ownership group wants to let go og its top box office attraction.

This is concerning. Even with only a year left on his contract, you need to pull in more than three pieces for Karlsson. The inferiority complex in Ottawa is astounding. Something tells me this will be a lot like the Spezza trade. And it simply can't be. Generational talent is worth so much more than that. Unless Ryan is part of this deal again, we should be getting 4-5 pieces. If Duchene can bring that much then Karlsson can bring that and more.

All Vegas is doing is bluffing on the perceived value of Glass. You hold him out on one deal, then you let Ottawa convince you to include him, and Ottawa believes that they are getting something. This is ridiculous. I have always been a supporter of Dorion, but if he (frank)s up this trade, I will lose all faith in him.

I don't see why Ottawa doesn't just sign him to a big contract, keep him for one more year, and then trade him. Wouldn't he bring more value that way? I just won't believe that Karlsson is only going to bring us 3 players. Thomas (frank)ing Tartar brought in a first, a second and a third for christ sake.

I could be reading too much into this, but if you read Karlsson's reply on Twitter to the disgusting tweet after the death of his child, it sounds like he may have known who the person was.
