Man... I really loved that dude when we first got him. Won the Calder... He had KILLER playoff series against PHI and Boston (lesser degree). Myers against Philly is still youtube material I'll watch today.
- JVince11

I loved him that flyers match he was pushing around Chris Pronger
Like it was his league now ..

Ugh Success went to his head it looks like

Oh crap was it??? my bad.

Sorry for all of that JVR trash talking I've done over the last few years then.

Wasn't that Emmerson Etem that did it too?

- JVince11

I believe etem was that player, but the first thing that popped into my head was fellow leaf lupul and his "is there any windowless rooms?" comment at a hotel in buffalo.

etem was a Richard, and where is he now?...Switzerland
lupul is a jackass and hasn't played a game since the end of the 2015-16 season...

karma...it's a female dog

Lack of mental and physical toughness, combined with an awkward body and unrealized potential with unrealistic expectations

I think he got a little complacent and injury shy personally.

He was dealing with some collarbone/shoulder type stuff a lot in Buffalo when he would try to play overly physical for long periods of time. Might be 6'7 but not built to be a physical presence.

This is from EK's thread

"Why do most rumour sites assume
It will be Trouba traded out of Winnipeg when 80% of the fan base assume ( and hope ) it will be Myers?"

He's still soft, he's still making five and a half, and he still has bonehead moments. Myers at 4m on the third pair is good

- jcragcrumple

does that equate to risto making $5.4 on the second-pairing?

This is kind of proving my point. Everyone talked here that McNabb was going to come in and be a top 3 d-man for this team for a long time.

Grigorenko was going to come in and be a top line Center.

Kassian and Foligno were going to rule the top line wings for years.

Every years its someone new.

- ImThatGuy

I don't know if anyone thought Foligno was going to rule one of the top lines (and if they did, God help us), but Kassian had oodles of potential and a skill/physical combo to drool over, coming out of junior. His problem was himself, which I guess you could say is the problem with many prospects. If you list our top 10, if we nail 3 or 4, we're doing well.

I still think the entry draft age should be pushed to 20 years old. You'd get far less "misses".

Everyone in the organization knows about his partying he's a white nose thanks to Kane before he becme a role model citizen
- gerbe75pts

Wrong. All of the reinharts liked their nose candy well back in their junior years. Grif was well known to be a party guy before our moron gm gave up Barzal for him.

Not for me. It definitely does for some. Risto is a more complete defenseman imo. And for some reason, everyone has already written off the idea that he'll be good with Dahlin, which is definitely possible

There's a difference to me on being a 2nd pairing guy and just being on the 2nd pairing to equal out your top 4.

McNabb played on LAK's top pairing but it wasn't because he was that talented... it was because they wanted to equal out.

Risto has always been a top minutes guy in Buffalo. Every situation, every FO, all of it.

BUT.. I'd presume Dahlin starts with 2nd pairing minutes with someone like Guhle or McCabe and then Scandella and Risto eat a majority of minutes first. Then the minutes could equal out as the season goes on. Injuries will happen too.

Kane was the one that got him into the big kid parties his attitude went to poop we they started chilling

Thankfully the Sabres got rid of him before he poisoned the mind of Jack

Your probably right about the parties but he wasn't as hard core back then

I want an equal top 4 honestly... I don't care about 1st or 2nd.

Give me a Risto, Dahlin, Scans, and Guhle/McCabe top 4 and I'll be happy to see them grow. There will be pains... injuries could mix things up too. But over time.. I like it.

It is the same theory that Chicago did with their top 4. Seabrook and Keith were their best two but they rarely played together. They would put Keith with Hjalmarsson and Seabrook with someone like Daley/Buf/Oduya. (vice versa.. not sure)

I actually dont hate the Strategy Ran Wilson laid out for Buffalo.

offer sheet Jacub Trouba at 6MM for 5 years.

Offer sheet Connon Hellybuck at 4MM for 5 years.

You give up your 2019 1st 2nd and 3rd round picks but you get your starting goalie and a top 2 D-man.

I disagree completly.

The entire fan base was floored we got Grigorenko 8th OA.

Kassian and Foligno were buzzing during the WJ's here. I got caught up in the hype.

You have also inserted veterans into that. We are strictly talking prospects here.

Bailey and Baptiste were supposed to come in and be top 6 forwards.
Nylander was supposed to be better than his brother.
Mikka Noronen was supposed to be the goalie for years to come.

Every year it's someone new. until they start producing, it means very little.

- ImThatGuy

Eichel is considered generational. Reinhart was in the conversation for 1st overall and put up over 100 points in the whl. Mittelstadt was a steal and took the world juniors mvp. Dahlin is considered generational. Those 4 alone are on an entirely different level then any of the guys you’ve mentioned. Grigorenko might be the only one you’ve mentioned with any kind of buzz and he’d be more along the lines of Nylander buzz. I still think Nylander will be fine. Not elite but a useful 2nd line winger with offense.

Dude it’s all true when I come up for games in the players lounge he completely ignores Jack even when Jack asks him a question

So he's a six year old who wants to be captain. Got it.

It would put the jets in a super tough spot.

10MM to two players when they only have 20MM to sign 6-7 guys.

I'll be fair... when he was drafted he was viewed as a top pairing guy maybe a #3. We traded him and he has performed as a 3/4. He had off the ice issues both here and there. And didn't he sit out and threaten to go to the KHL last summer?

Points don't tell the whole story but he's had like 32 pts in 150 games in Colorado.

He's not exactly gonna be getting Norris votes any time soon.

Not a bust...

- JVince11

Never threaten to go to the KHL, lots of random russian news paper stirring the pot, TSN MSM guys picking up stories and running with them but the whole time he was in Miami and Denver training. He was never going to the KHL just the lazy Avs are a disaster narrative that happened last summer

Hes a number 3 now at the very least, he played very well last year. Crazy that he had 1 less 5v5 goal than ROR. He wont get PP time with EJ, Barrie, and Girard on the team, but interested to see if his totals will spike if he ever did play PP time

You can see how his attitude changed over the years he was supposed to be captain and can't miss leader in the organization

But you can thank Kane for some of his attitude changes him and Kane hung out alot

The young guys loved Kane beause he was the cool dude that knew the parties

But Kane did change his ways maybe he woke up

- gerbe75pts

Do you have any proof of any of this from actual sources?
